LOCKING DEVICES MUST BE USED SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY Use the Correct Lock: RUGER® RED LABEL Your is supplied with a unique locking device which prevents the gun from being assembled. While the lock is similar to locks used on other gauges, the locking device supplied with your firearm has been specifically designed for that gauge. The size of the padlock also is important. To Install the Factory-Supplied Locking Device: 1. Keep the shotgun pointed in a safe direction and your fingers outside the trigger guard at all times! 2. Push the top lever to the right. Open the gun by pivoting the end of the barrels downward. Check both chambers to be sure that the gun is UNLOADED. Afterwards, close the gun. 10 3. Pull out the forend latch lever and separate the forend assembly from the barrels.
