Dt:19.10.09 APPEAL TO NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS (NGOs) The unprecedented floods in Tungabhadra, Krishna and their tributaries have caused enormous damage to the lives and property of nearly 17 lakh people in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Government of Andhra Pradesh has embarked on a massive project for reconstructing the damaged houses(estimated to be around one lakh) and have announced a Special Package of Rs.68,450/- per house. The NGOs and Civil Society Groups interested in working in the project can adopt any of the villages enclosed herewith and undertake to take up construction of these houses by involving the beneficiaries fully. The interested NGOs may have to contribute an amount of Rs.10,000/- per house for its completion in all respects. Interested NGOs may indicate their willingness to participate in the project through email:[email protected] and by letter on or before 24 th October 2009. 10/31/2018 District Irrigation Profiles IRRIGATION PROFILE OF KURNOOL DISTRICT *Click here for Ayacut Map INTRODUCTION Kurnool district with a Population of 40.47 Lakhs lies between latitude 14°-54' North to 16°-11' and longitude 76°-56' East to 78°-25' East. 58.60% of Kurnool District lies in Krishna basin and 41.40% in Pennar Basin. This district is bounded by Tungabhadra and Krishna Rivers and Mahaboob Nagar District in North, Kadapa and Ananthapur Districts on South, Karnataka State on West and Prakasham District in the East. The main rivers flowing in the district are (1) Tungabhadra River which is a tributary to Krishna River (2) Hundri, a tributary to Tungabhadra (3) Kundu River is a major tributary to River Penna. Kurnool is city and the headquarters of Kurnool district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is also known as the Gateway to Rayalaseema. Kurnool served as the state capital of Andhra (not Andhra Pradesh) from 1 October 1953 to 31 October 1956. As of 2011 census, it is the fifth most populous city, with a population of 424,920. Etymology: The name Kurnool is derived from "Kandanavolu", "the city known as Kandenapalli" or "the city of Kandena". Kandena is a Telugu word; it means grease. The city was also called the city of Skanda or Kumaraswamy (the chief God of Wars) History: Little was known about Kurnool Town before the 11th century. The earliest knowledge of this settlement dates from the 11th century. It has developed as transit place on the southern banks of the river Tungabhadra and was commonly known as 'Kandenavolu'. -

of the Mining operations. The total excavation (mineral, waste, top soil) to be excavated needs to bring out clearly in Production and Development plan. The mineable reserve, blocked reserves needs to be mentioned along with life of mine. PP should add an annexures showing the year wise production and development plan till the end of life of mine. The location of mineral stacking, dumping sites, plantation and other infrastructures needs to bring out clearly. The PP needs to bring out the waste to be generated during the entire life of mine and where it will be dumped / backfilled. Reply The Approved Modified Mining Plan prepared as per the restrictions advised by the Expert Appraisal Committee of MOEF&CC & Forest Department, Land use pattern at Conceptual stage, mine closure, Dump site, Plantation & Infrastructure along with Annexures showing the year wise production and Development plan till the end of life of mine are documented. We have incorporated all the modifications in the Modified Mining Plan duly considering the comments of EAC & Forest department. The Deputy Director, Mines and Geology, Kurnool district has approved the aforementioned Modified Mining plan vide letter No. 4557/MMP-KNL/2019 dated 21/12/2019 and a copy of the approved Modified Mining plan is attached as Annexure – 2 for your kind reference. c) PP needs to provide the water table in BGL. In addition to this PP needs to provide the details from where water will be sourced for this project. Reply The proposed ML area is trending EW sloping due west and east. Rain water constitutes the drainage system of the area.
