OCTAVIAN DROOBERS Saturday Morning Local Events February OCTAVIAN DROOBERS www.Octavian-Droobers.org The Orienteering Club for Warwickshire and Coventry Affiliated to the British Orienteering Federation Saturday Morning Local E vents February - March 2015 (Occasionally circumstances may force a late change of venue or car park. Please check on the club website www.Octavian-Droobers.org before the event.) Details: The Octavian Droobers Saturday/Sunday Local Events offer something suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to the experienced orienteer. Start times are normally from 10.30 to 12.00. Just turn up on the day. Seniors: £4.00; Juniors: Free. (£1.00 EMIT card hire if you don't have your own). Saturday From the M42 Junction 6 take the A45 towards Birmingham. After 2 miles turn left 21st (south) at traffic lights into Damson Parkway. At the roundabout come back on February yourself and turn left into the lane leading to parking by church. Organiser: Alistair Powell - tel. 07903 483426. Saturday University of Warwick - this event will also be part of the 2015 28th West Midlands Urban League. March Map Ref SP297766 on sheet 140. Three miles south west of Coventry. Parking will be at the Athletics track and games hall. However we have agreed with the University Security Manager that access through the campus from the A429 Kenilworth Road will not be permitted due to ongoing road works. All access is to be from the north - the A45 - so as not to take cars through the campus, and this is different to previous years. From the A45 follow signs to the university campus and athletics track. On reaching the athletics track car park number 12, which we will be using, is on the right hand side and will be signed. Look out for details of the Summer Wednesday evening events which are scheduled to begin with an event at the Memorial Park in Coventry on Wednesday 22nd April. .

Please contact the organiser. The Warwick District Council advises all the participants to take a free lateral flow COVID test prior to attending. Tests can be ordered online or collected from most pharmacies and take 30 minutes to self-administer. Of course, if you have symptoms that would be consistent with a Covid 19 infection, you must not attend. Try to stay at least 2m away from other competitors and members of the public. Avoiding potential exposure to COVID is more important than saving a few seconds. This includes in the car park, at the start, whilst on the course, at the finish and at download. SI Courses: • Be courteous to members of the public as you run around the park • If you can avoid touching the SI boxes when punching, then please do so.

Over 300 children from across the UK took part in the event and had fun finding as many orienteering controls as they could over the set time that was allowed.
