Multi-disciplined creative work in a variety of avenues. Development of a new cafe “Alchemy” with magic theme, teaching magic, performing magic; writing and publishing poetry, painting, composing music, busking magic on the street; curator and developer of {lanyop} lagniappe miniature art gallery in Dunedin (a non-profit alternative night gallery). {lanyop} is a ‘little extra something for nothing’ offered to the public at nightfall where all artwork is viewed only by candlelight whilst live piano music is played in the background.

Teaching individuals and groups in a community-based educational environment with a focus on literacy, reading, spelling, computing and writing.

Developed a creative way to include writing ‘haiku’, bookbinding, and ‘book art’ as part of the literacy process by having students write, publish, edit, then handbind their own limited edition books. This process was adopted by other tutors within the poupou.

Developed and taught workshops in bookbinding.

Co-taught within a Men’s Literacy Group.

Created and co-taught a Creative Writing and Bookbinding Workshop with book author Sandy McKay.

Guest Workshop Presenter at the National Hui, Wellington, July 2008. Teaching other tutors from around NZ how to incorporate bookbinding into their literacy teaching.

Oversaw the in-house fabrication and implementation of this large-scale system.

Research on the needs of both zoo staff and visitors by designing a survey and making design proposals for various systems that met both the needs of zoo staff and zoo visitors.

The wayfinding system was in use from 1988 to 2003.

Concept development, writing, research and design of print and three-dimensional work including: zoo graphics, educational signage, exhibits, scientific labels, maps, brochures, food packaging, posters, fundraising materials, and collateral.
