  • The Hitman's Bodyguard
THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD ABOUT THE PRODUCTION “I have a job for you …” -- Agent Amelia Roussel Nearly everybody the notoriously lethal hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) has ever met across the globe want him dead – but that’s only if Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds), the vigilant bodyguard recruited to protect him at all costs, doesn’t shoot him out of sheer infuriation first. The hair-triggering rivalry and potential joining of forces between a high-flying, Triple-A rated hired gun and a protection specialist results in an outrageous, fast-paced action comedy that twists and twines the hitman thriller, the bodyguard romance and the odd-couple buddy comedy into one irreverently fun ride. Featuring a hilarious “bromance” between blockbuster stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, creatively choreographed fight scenes and exhilarating high-speed chases THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD offers a non-stop mashup of laughs and outrageous action. The wild chase begins when Interpol strikes a risky deal with a newly captured Kincaid: if he agrees to be a star witness against the bloodthirsty Belarusian tyrant Vladislav Dukhovich (Gary Oldman) in the International Criminal Court, they’ll free Kincaid’s cherished, and not-to-be-trifled with, wife Sonia (Salma Hayek) from jail. There’s just one problem: Interpol has only 24 hours to transport Kincaid from the North of England to The Hague – knowing full well that cutthroats and assassins will be lying in wait to hit the hitman the entire way to Holland. Things go wrong right off the bat, as Interpol Agent Amelia Roussel (Elodie Yung) leads the prison convoy transporting Kincaid into an ambush.

Bradford has been showing movies since the twilight of the 19th century. More than 100 years later the city’s association with cinema continues to evolve, and Bradford International Film Festival remains at the very heart of it. The Festival’s reputation is growing. Bradford has become a byword for exciting, adventurous programming – a showcase for the new, the ground-breaking, the unusual and the obscure. In 2008 our line-up is once again constructed from a disparate mix of fresh material and tributes in the form of retrospectives. Thus Bradford straddles the cinema of the past and the cinema of the present while, always, looking forward to the future. This year special seasons are devoted to Michael Palin, Kenneth Branagh, Julien Temple, Leslie Norman and Christian Petzold. We will also be joined by Barry Norman, Patrick Doyle and Mike Figgis. Together they represent an incredible, unique cast list. Balanced with the films themselves – shorts and features – the offer is some- what overwhelming.

  • Theatre in England Syllabus/Play Schedule, January 2016 Thursday, Dec. 31
Theatre in England Syllabus/Play Schedule, January 2016 Arrive in London December 30th The Seminar: Each morning, we will meet in the parlor for seminar after breakfast at 9:15 am; each seminar will be an hour or slightly longer. Transportation: The easiest way to get to most of the theatres is to take the Tube. (In some cases—noted below—we will take the bus instead.) There is a Tube map included in your packet of maps. The Transport for London website also has an excellent trip planner on their website: https://tfl.gov.uk/. The most economical thing to do is to buy a seven-day Oyster card (a reusable travel card) and supplement this with day passes for the last few days of the trip. Trips to stops that are not in Zone 1 or Zone 2 (Central London) will also require a fare top-up; these are noted below. The Tube is very simple to use, and after a few days you will find London easy to navigate.
