What are some ways to announce your new relationship to family and friends? Cupid’s Advice: Being in a new relationship is always a really exciting time, and Brenda and Macaulay are definitely proving that to be true. If you’re dating someone new and want to go public soon, check out some of these tips from Cupid: 1. Keep it casual: If you don’t want to make a big deal out of it, you can try to phase your partner into your friend group. Gradually have them hang out with you and your friends more and more, and then eventually just let people know that they are your new boo. This way your friends have already gotten to know them a bit and it’s less awkward! Related Link: Celebrity Baby News: Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt Welcome First Child 2. Expert Dating Advice: The 5 Most Terrifying Words to a Man By Whitney Johnson On this week’s Single in Stilettosdating advice video, founder and relationship expert Suzanne Oshima talks to relationship author Dr. Jed Diamond to discuss the five most terrifying words to a man and offer their best relationship advice. Women are constantly worried about saying that right thing to men, and here, Dr. Diamond teaches you what not to say. Relationship Author Gives Expert Dating Advice Related Link: Dating Advice Video: The 5 Stages of Love and Why Many Stop at Stage 3 You’ve probably uttered them before, but you’ll never want to use them again: “Honey, we need to talk.” Oftentimes, women use these words because they want to feel heard and connected. You probably think that those five words will bring you closer together and help resolve any problems you may be facing. However, when a man hears those words, they are like nails on a chalkboard. He immediately feels like he’s going to be reprimanded or criticized and is halfway out the door by the time you finish. Related Link: Expert Dating Advice: The One Thing Men Want More Than Sex! So what’s a better way to approach an important conversation with your man? You want to make sure your partner is open to whatever you have to say, but, according to Dr. Diamond’s expert dating advice, you have to remember that men communicate differently than women. As a woman, you’re nurturing and often want to sit down and talk face-to-face. But back in the days of hunters and gatherers, men were used to only one set of eyes of being on them: those of predators. So instead, ask him to take a walk and then start your discussion without using those five terrifying words. Celebrity Baby News: Heidi Montag & Spencer Pratt Welcome First Child By Melissa Lee Congratulations to Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who just welcomed their first child into the world! The celebrity baby, whose parents are most famously known for starring onThe Hills a few years back, is named Gunner Stone. He was born on Sunday, October 1 at 3:06 pm. Montag told UsMagazine.com that it was the “hardest and most rewarding experience,” but she feels that the couple is very blessed. Pratt, Montag’s husband, called it the “most lit day” of his life. This celebrity baby has a memorable name — Gunner Stone. What are some ways to compromise with your partner on baby names? Cupid’s Advice: Heidi and Spencer are definitely some of the most eccentric celebrities in Hollywood, and their baby’s unique name shows that. If you and your partner are expecting a baby and are dealing with the classic name debate, check out some of Cupid’s advice below: 1. Be open-minded: If you and your partner are struggling to come up with a name you both like, remember to be open-minded when it comes to their suggestions. You may not like a name at first, but eventually find a liking towards it in a few weeks or months. Try your best not to immediately shut down the names your partner brings to the table and maybe you’ll be able to come to a compromise! Related Link: Celebrity Baby News: Kim Kardashian Confirms She’s Expecting Her Third Child 2. Brainstorm together: Just like any other thing in parenting, baby names are a collaborative effort as well. Instead of thinking separately, try brainstorming a list of names together. Take the time to sit down and create a group of baby names that you both like, then come back to it later and see which one sticks out. Related Link: Celebrity Baby News: Khloe Kardashian Is Expecting First Child with Tristan Thompson 3. Go through a baby book: When all else fails, head to the bookstore or Internet to find a compiled list of baby names. Go through the article or book together and find names that both of you enjoy. This could either help you two come to a compromise, or even spark up some names of your own. What are some of your tips for coming up with a baby name? Share your thoughts below. Date Idea: Plan a Picnic with Your Love By Delaney Gilbride There aren’t going to be many more days of nice weather for lovers this year. The days are growing shorter and colder, but it’s not too late to take advantage of a fine fall day for one last date. The perfect way to close out the season together before you start snuggling up fireside is to take a picnic date. It’s simple, quality fun with the person you love! Picnics are a fairly easy date to plan and execute, so it’s the little touches that make the difference. Don’t bring your food in a tote bag: use a real basket, and bring a gingham blanket while you’re at it. Go all out! And to further create the ambiance, make a playlist on your iPod with relaxing, but upbeat tunes. Think John Mayer, Goo Goo Dolls or Colbie Caillat. Related Link: Date Idea: Learn a New Sport Together When it comes to food, the simpler the better. Wine or sparkling water are good bets for drinks, and finger foods are always a fun addition. Silverware can be cumbersome, so stick to fresh fruits, cheeses and the like. Hit up a local deli beforehand for good deals on side dishes and desserts! There are also easy recipes for everything from bruschetta to spinach artichoke dip. Anything that you can feed to each other makes the afternoon more fun and interactive. Related Link: Date Idea: Take a Risk and Be Daring What’s great about a picnic is that it can even be done in your own backyard! So long as you make some time away from everyday life to have quality time together as fall comes to a close, that’s all that matters. In the Santa Monica area? Check out TravelFusion for picnic ideas at Santa Monica Beach or Santa Monica Park along Ocean Avenue for some scenic picnic spots. Have a favorite picnic food? FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM COGS108 Final Project Group Members: Yanyi Wang Ziwen Zeng Lingfei Lu Yuhan Wang Yuqing Deng Introduction and Background Movie revenue is one of the most important measure of good and bad movies. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Reasrch Question: Various factors blend together to create a high revenue for movie, but what are the most important aspect contribute to higher revenue?
