Contact Carl Sutton to join: Tel: 01509 550448 / 07717 318225 Selection Policy Teams will be selected by the following captains: 1st XI - Jordan Holmes 2nd XI - Simon Glover 3rd XI - Broc Slinger / Ian Stewart • All players who are promoted or dropped will be advised by the relevant • captain prior to the publication of the teams • Captains will not discuss the selection of teams and reason for selection • with any players or o cials other than those directly involved with a • selection change (promotion and relegation) • If any players have complaints or would like to discuss their selection (not • other players) they are encouraged to contact the relevant captain • In regard to selection the following factors will be taken into account when • selecting teams: Individual Performances - Captains will focus on all-round performance and will look at all aspects of play that is batting, bowling and elding Training - All players are encouraged to attend weekly training sessions on Thursday evenings Attitude - This includes players’ attitude to the club, fellow players and administrators. This will focus on e ort at training sessions and match days, timeliness of attendance and their contribution to team spirit / performance Unavailability - If a player misses a game, he will not be automatically re-selected in that team. I’d like to thank Adam Meads for his tenure as captain over what has been a challenging two seasons, a more dedicated and driven ‘Tree’ you will struggle to nd, his commitment to the performance of the team and the club is a credit to him. We can’t argue with the table over a 22 game season, our performance last year wasn’t down to individuals, as a team we were not good enough, we deserved to drop down to Division 1. The 2016 season will be the time to regroup as a team, re-evaluate our targets and roles, and most importantly, get back to some good old fashioned ‘Keg-uth’ Town cricket: tough, competitive and bloody good fun. This season I’ll be looking for some of the ‘younger’ members of the team to make the step from players, to leaders. Gareth Isaac, Alex Fletcher and George Scottorn all have the ability to change games with both bat and ball. Under the guidance and support of a few of the more experienced players, my expectation is that these are the men who should be leading the statistics come the cold September Saturdays, helping to rebuild the fortress at King George and creating a platform for the Trees to again challenge the upper echelons of the Premier Division. Get ready for the summer gentlemen, it’s on! We found out that on our day we could beat anyone in the division. However, performances were not constantly good enough to launch a promotion challenge. Finishing 5th was pleasing in many ways, but it is de nitely a target to aim beyond this season. This season will allow me to balance the team each week with a mix of experienced senior players and a youthful contingent of very promising juniors; giving juniors the opportunity to contribute each week is vital in their development into 1st XI cricket. I will be encouraging all 2nd XI players to play with a positive approach and backing their ability. Success this season will not only be judged by points gained, but also by continued junior contributions. I look forward to watching this team grow along the way, hopefully into promotion challengers. Enjoy!     STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 2014 No. 3060 LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND The North West Leicestershire (Electoral Changes) Order 2014 Made - - - - 5th November 2014 Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2) Under section 58(4) of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009( a) (“the Act”) the Local Government Boundary Commission for England( b) (“the Commission”) published a report dated February 2014 stating its recommendations for changes to the electoral arrangements for the district of North West Leicestershire. The Commission has decided to give effect to the recommendations. A draft of the instrument has been laid before Parliament and a period of forty days has expired and neither House has resolved that the instrument be not made. The Commission makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 59(1) of the Act: Citation and commencement 1. —(1) This Order may be cited as the North West Leicestershire (Electoral Changes) Order 2014. (2) This Order comes into force— (a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after it is made; (b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2015. Interpretation 2. We issue this response in the spirit of contributing to the processes surrounding this vast infrastructure project, but must include the caveat that the Council can only respond to the material to hand and further intensive work with HS2 Ltd is required to fully understand the impacts for Leicestershire and the most appropriate mitigation. ii) The Council recognises that the WDES is a draft document. North West Leicestershire District Council has declared 5 Air Quality Management Area (AQMAs). The AQMA’s in Kegworth, Castle Donington, and Copt Oak were declared because the areas have not achieved the annual mean objective set out in the National Air Quality Strategy for the nitrogen dioxide. The AQMA’s in Coalville and M1 Molehill were declared because the areas have not achieved the annual mean objectives for nitrogen dioxide and it is believed that the areas are not achieving the hourly mean objective for nitrogen dioxide as set out in the National Air Quality Strategy Objectives: -3 40 μgm NO2 when expressed as annual mean, to be achieved by 31st December 2005. -3 200 μgm NO2 when expressed as hourly mean, to be achieved by 31st December 2005. After Detailed Assessments it was concluded that as there was no other significant sources of nitrogen dioxide in the areas, road traffic is the major source of nitrogen dioxide in all of the AQMA’s.

Unless otherwise stated the buildings are Grade II listed. It should be noted that some changes have been made to the lists following their original publication and a number of buildings have been added to the statutory lists (ie 'spot listed'), some have been upgraded in status to Grade II* from Grade II, and two buildings; the lodge to Rotherwood, Tamworth Road, Ashby de la Zouch and the Wall and Gates at the former Railway Station, Station Road, Ashby de la Zouch; have been removed altogether from the list (A summary of all alterations to the statutory list, and the date of the last update of this document, are contained in the Appendix at the end of this index).     THE RISE AND FALL OF A 1\iIARl(ET TOWN Castle Donington in the Nineteenth Century by J.M. Lee I The old buildings of Castle Donington are startling evidence of former prosperity. Not only the larger residences of High Street, but also many houses of little importance with back-kitchens and outhouses of old half­ timbered work, have red-brick fronts and sash windows, all of the same age, which are a flourish in the classical style that dominated the ordinary domes­ tic architecture of the early nineteenth century. The visitor must be puzzled by the curious architectural luxuries which have been altered to suit other purposes. For instance, a house stands in the Market Place, with a classical pediment and a French window which once opened on to a wrought iron balcony; but its ground floor frontage has twice been rebuilt, once to accom­ modate two shop-fronts and now to house an office. The balanced pro­ portions of No. 71 High Street, and the elegance of its next-door neighbour are evidence of good taste. The two houses in High Street built for two sisters of a former vicar, Isabella and Mary Ann Dalby, command the respect due to comfortable gentility. The bold bow-windows of a shop in Church Lane and the shy milliner's window in Apes Gate remind the passer-by of long-vanished trades. A sense of solid satisfaction is conveyed by the even regularity of door and window in Church Lane Terrace, by the ostentation of Venetian windows above two shops in Borough Street and by the moulding of the cottage door-jambs in Bondgate.
