Littleton, Colo., June 20, 2002 – EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) is pleased to announced that DISH Network™ now offers local channels including ABC Ch. 25 (WPBF), NBC Ch. 5 (WPTV), FOX Ch. 29 (WFLX), UPN Ch. 34 (WTVX), PBS Ch. 42 (WXEL) and IND Ch. 61 (WFGC) by satellite television to five counties in the West Palm Beach area. DISH Network was unable to secure retransmission consent from the local CBS, Channel 12 (WPEC), and will not offer CBS in its locals package at this time.

With the addition of West Palm Beach local channels, DISH Network is better able to provide a competitive alternative to cable TV service in the West Palm Beach area. DISH Network now offers local channels via satellite TV to a total of 38 cities and their metro areas nationwide.

The local channels are available for a price of only $5.99 per month to DISH Network customers. However, until retransmission permission is obtained from CBS, local channels will be available at a discounted rate of $4.99 to DISH Network customers in the West Palm Beach area.

DISH Network offers local channels to West Palm Beach in the following area counties: Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin and Palm Beach.
