Nel caso dell'“arancione”, suggerisce vivacità, calore, entusiasmo, creatività, energia, successo, stim- olo ed anche attrazione, tutti concetti che si adattano perfettamente al 2008 di Mitsubishi Motors Corporation… Intelligente e differente, MMC racchiude questi tratti in una gamma di nuove di vetture, ciascuna supportata da una figura emblematica o da una missione specifica: - Lancer Evolution: Spirito sportivo - “i”: Prospettiva verde - Pajero: Esperienza nei 4x4 Forse il più potente simbolo di questo pensiero positivo di azienda e marchio, la piattaforma "Progetto Globale" ha già dimostrato la sua validità con il successo di Lancer Sports Sedan, Nuova Outlander e Delica D:5, i primi prodotti basati su questa architettura globale completamente nuova. Europa Lanciata lo scorso anno su alcuni mercati selezionati e molto bene accolta, l'elegante nuova Lancer Sports Sedan ha già iniziato a contribuire ai risultati commerciali di Mitsubishi Motors in Europa con 6.576 vetture vendute (a fine Dicembre 2007). Prima variante della famiglia delle nuove Lancer, sarà seguita da una serie completa di modelli analoghi, compresi Lancer Evolution, Lancer Ralliart e l'affascinante Lancer Sportback, oltre alla sua versione più sportiva Lancer Sportback Ralliart. Quando sarà lanciata nella seconda metà dell'anno, questa hatchback a 5 porte sarà la variante più importante per l'Europa, rappresentando il 70% dei volumi previsti per la Lancer nella regione. Ben concepita Prima di questo importantissimo arrivo, la Prototype-S ne anticipa la forma... Come la Prototype-X (Detroit 2007) è stata una prefigurazione di produzione della Concept-X (Tokyo 2005) che anticipava le nuove Lancer Sports Sedan e Lancer Evolution, la Prototype–S segue la tanto apprezzata Concept-Sportback da salone (Francoforte 2005), ad indicare il prossimo arrivo della hatchback Mitsubishi del segmento C/D. Realizzata partendo dalle stesse caratteristiche di tradizione sportiva, design elegante, comporta- mento dinamico d'eccellenza e “concezione intelligente”, la Prototype-S punta sulle stesse peculiarità di auto emozionante e non di massa della Lancer Sports Sedan, stavolta in veste di hatchback, avendo come punti di riferimento le analoghe Alfa Romeo 156 / 159 Sportwagon (riferimento in fatto di comportamento dinamico) e Saab con la leggendaria Saab 900 Turbo Combi-Coupé (riferimento per fascino). Corroborante Proposta in una corroborante tonalità arancione metallizzato, con i suoi 458,5 cm di lunghezza la Prototype-S aggiunge la convenienza del portellone e delle flessibilità dei sedili posteriori alle doti dicomportamento dinamico della gamma della nuova Lancer. Essenzialmente versione di pre-produzione della originale Concept-Sportback, la Prototype-S resta fedele alla sua ispirazione. Per il frontale propone una ulteriore variante della tipica mascherina da “Jet da caccia” della Lancer declinata in nero con inserti a nido d'ape e profilo cromato. È affiancata su entrambi i lati da prese d'aria supplementari che integrano i fendinebbia a forma di boomerang. Altre caratteristiche peculiari sono il cofano tipo Lancer Evolution, fari specifici e ruote in lega da 19" a cinque razze. Al posteriore, la Prototype-S segue lo stesso tema stilistico esplorato nel 2005 con la Concept- Sportback con un portellone molto slanciato sormontato dal caratteristico spoiler sul tetto della Sportback in tinta con la carrozzeria. I gruppi ottici posteriori prolungati allargano l'aspetto dell'auto dato che abbracciano i parafanghi posteriori. Peculiarità specifica, i gruppi ottici posteriori segnano una netta linea di separazione fra paraurti e parafango che corre esattamente parallela all'apertura della porta posteriore. All'interno, la Prototype-S ha un gusto tipicamente europeo con la sua strumentazione all'italiana a profilo gemellato, la finitura scamosciata nera della parte superiore della plancia e dei pannelli porta e la selleria in pelle beige scelta per la tappezzeria, con finitura uniforme o traforata o ad onde, a seconda della zona rivestita. Ovviamente gli strumenti sono illuminati di luce arancione... Corsia di sorpasso A riflesso delle proprie ambizioni, il profilo è sportivo a cuneo, le linee finemente cesellate, la presenza è energica grazie al passo lungo ed alle ampie carreggiate, ed il posteriore che si allarga in alto e l'espressivo spoiler al tetto racchiudono la visione Mitsubishi di una berlina sportiva molto flessibile del segmento C/D, molto lontana dalle tradizionali hatchback. La Prototype-S riunisce armoniosamente elementi ripresi dalla Concept-Sportback (concezione generale), Lancer Evolution (realizzazione) e Lancer Ralliart (motore 2.0 litri turbo da 240 CV / 343 Nm, cambio Twin Clutch SST, trazione 4WD permanente dotata di differenziale centrale attivo o “ACD” Mitsubishi Motors). Amsterdam, 4 marzo 2008 MITSUBISHI i-EV - Connessa - Dal 1993 il Mitsubishi Motors Environmental Council di Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) si impegna nello sfruttamento dell'esperienza tecnologica per contribuire ad un ambiente più pulito. Come prosecuzione di questi costanti sforzi di ricerca e sviluppo nel corso degli anni (ultimamente concentrati sulla tecnologia dei motori elettrici entro-ruota, “Green Plastic”, ecc, …) Mitsubishi Motors ha assunto un punto di vista molto diverso sulle potenziali soluzioni. Struttura MMC ha annunciato il 14 luglio 2006 un nuovo programma di indirizzo dei propri sforzi per affrontare le problematiche ambientali: il “Mitsubishi Motors Environment Initiative Program 2010” (“EIP 2010”). Come seguito del precedente “Environment Sustainability Plan” degli anni fiscali 2002-2005, il piano EIP 2010 propone un approccio innovativo alle problematiche ambientali, con una visione olistica di problemi e soluzioni, che comprende: - Tecnologie dei veicoli, - Produzione, - Materiali innovativi, - Gestione delle sostanze pericolose, - Riciclaggio, - Relazioni con i fornitori, - Educazione. Lanciato all'inizio dell'anno fiscale 2006, l’ EIP 2010 comprende modifiche in 4 aree principali, in riflesso ai requisiti sia del Protocollo di Kyoto 2005 che delle sempre più stringenti normative ambien- tali e leggi relative in Giappone, Nord America ed Europa oltre che degli altri relativi sviluppi a livello mondiale: - Gestione dell'ambiente, - Prevenzione del riscaldamento globale, - Prevenzione dell'inquinamento ambientale Il piano EIP 2010 incorpora anche nuove misure relative alle risorse ed all'energia concepite nell’ottica di ridurre la dipendenza dal petrolio. Proposte finalizzate Sul fronte dei prodotti – quello più evidente ai clienti finali – MMC ha scelto di non focalizzarsi su un'unica tecnologia “esemplare”, ma viceversa di offrire una serie di tangibili soluzioni adattate a ciascuna delle regioni in cui è presente, quali: - Europa: Sviluppo congiunto di una famiglia di diesel puliti - da lanciare nel 2009 – da Mitsubishi Motors Corporation e Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. - Giappone: Mini vettura (K-car) di ultima generazione a propulsione elettrica da lanciare nel 2010. All'altro estremo in chiave prodotti, questo è anche il modo per interpretare le ultime concept car MMC, che uniscono il senso di responsabilità sociale di Mitsubishi con il suo tradizionale spirito sportivo, il tutto in formati che costituiscono un richiamo alle rispettive utenze regionali: - Coupé sportiva negli USA (Concept-RA), - SUV compatto in Europa (Concept-cX), - K-Car in Giappone (i-MiEV Sport). Icona di una missione Accanto alla Lancer Evolution (spirito sportivo) e Pajero* (esperienza nei 4x4), Mitsubishi Motors ha deciso di assegnare alla sua esclusiva minicar “i” il ruolo di ambasciatrice ecologica nel mondo. Lanciata in Giappone a gennaio 2006, vincitrice di molti premi e ben accolta tanto dai media che dal pubblico, la “i” è stata scelta come piattaforma per il progetto del prossimo veicolo MMC di nuova generazione di auto elettrica (= emissioni zero). Annunciata ad ottobre 2006, l'auto elettrica “i” o “i-EV” (“i-MiEV** in Giappone”) verrà lanciata in Giappone nel 2010, e ne è allo studio l'esportazione sui mercati internazionali. La i-EV è partita come veicolo sperimentale spinto da un motore elettrico compatto e leggero e con batterie agli ioni di litio ad alta densità energetica.
