On behalf of the NIS committee I am delighted to launch the 7th edition of Sri Lankan Businesses & services Directory commonly known as Nalanda Directory, among the Sri Lankan community in Sydney.

From humble beginnings it has come a long way. The Sri Lankan Business Directory has its origins in a back page of a one-page souvenir published for the 1998 social gathering and dinner organised by the Nalandians in Sydney (NIS). Based on this concept, the first business directory was published and distributed in the year 2000. Since then, the directory was published once every two years. Out of all the community work undertaken by NIS, publishing the Sri Lankan businesses and services directory in the year 2000 and continuation of it for the past 12 years is one of the most outstanding achievements of our organisation.

On behalf of the NIS committee, I would like to thank all the advertisers, business owners directory 2014 directory 2014 and the associations for placing advertisements in the directory. Special thank you to the NIS committee for their efforts in collecting, compiling, cataloguing and proofreading the information. I would like to convey my sincere thanks to Wimal Perera and Sisira Mayadunne for their relentless effort and hard work. Without their contribution, this project could not have been concluded quickly and efficiently. I am grateful to Wimal Amaratunga for looking after this project while I was away from Sydney. I would also like to thank Anura Vithanage of Creativecore for the design, artwork and printing of the directory.
