4 A Note from Your Principal…
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to say welcome to Lawhon Elementary School. We are tru- ly excited about the opportunities that the 2017-2018 school year will afford. I hope that you are excited and ready for a successful year filled with learning and fun. This handbook contains essential information regarding our school and school rules. I hope that you find it a helpful resource as your child becomes an important part of our school community. We desire the best for every child, and we look forward to partnering with you to help our chil- dren be successful. Success isn’t accidental. It is the result of a focused team effort, and every- one has a part to play if we are to achieve our goals and reach our potential. Our staff will pro- vide the quality instruction that your child deserves and that you expect. Lawhon offers the fol- lowing to keep students excited and engaged in the educational process:
▪ Assemblies ▪ PBS Events ▪ Spring Festival ▪ Clubs and Chorus ▪ Reading Fair, Science Fair, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee ▪ Collecting Box Tops for Education ▪ Grade level plays and programs ▪ Grandparents’ Day celebrations ▪ Monthly birthday celebrations
Parental involvement shows children that school is important and that you are committed to their success. I encourage you to volunteer your time and abilities, visit often, and communicate regularly with your child’s teacher. Together, we will accomplish great things! As principal, I am open to input and suggestions from the community and parents. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at 662-841-8910. I am glad you are a part of the Lawhon Elementary family, and I know that each child will have a wonderful educational experience. Let’s have a fantastic year!
Sincerely,
Mark Enis Principal
