WWW.GMLTC.ORG www.facebook.com/GMLTC @GMLTC www.flickr.com/groups/gmltc/pool/ We are a multi-generational group of Lego® and train enthusiasts, modeling both historically accurate and whimsical trains and enviroments using Lego® bricks, train tracks, and power systems. Our models are usually built at “8-stud-wide L scale”, which is roughly O scale. GMLTC has been displaying at train shows and other events since the early 1980s, averaging three to four shows per year. We are one of the oldest, if not the oldest, Lego® Train Club in the world. Notable shows: • Two Great Create events in Minneapolis, MN • 1999 NMRA convention in St. Paul, MN ® • Invited by The Lego Group to display at Legoland California in 2000 ® • 2004 Invited by The Lego Group to build an event model (a scale model of the Mayo Clinic’s Plummer Building) at the center of the Rochester, MN Sesquicentennial celebration. • 2006 Great American Train Shows in St. Paul, MN • Many visits to the La Crosse & Three Rivers Model Railroad Show, where we frequently won the People’s Choice Award. • Brickworld Chicago 2008 & 2009 • 2014 Weisman Art Museum exhibit inspired by O. Winston Link photographs • An anchor display at countless Brickmania Open Houses, Art-a-Whirl events, and Minneapolis World War Brick conventions since 2010. • Long-time collaboration with the Minnesota Transportation Museum / Jackson St. Roundhouse. Our members have also hosted building events, displayed dioramas, or participated in themed panel discussions at local libraries, schools, and science fiction conventions, as well as Lego® conventions around the country. .
