BACKGROUND Emirates & Al Nasr Building & Construction (EGYCO) L.L.C. was first established and registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in July 1993. The Company is owned by Mr. Mohamed Salem Saleh Al Minhali. INTRODUCTION / OVERVIEW Emirates & Al Nasr Building & Construction (EGYCO) L.L.C., is one of the United Arab Emirates’ leading construction companies, with over 450 personnel working in Abu Dhabi. The company is a Category I company and has successfully completed a number of major residential and commercial projects during the past years. We have a multi-discipline engineering capability that is committed to delivering high quality solutions matched to our customer requirements in the United Arab Emirates. We offer complete solutions through our integrated capability and experience. QUALITY MEASURES Emirates & Al Nasr Building & Construction (EGYCO) L.L.C. recognizes that a major factor in its business success is the emphasis it has placed on Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) as key elements of all its activities. Continued success requires excellence. This means providing our clients with services which are of the highest professional and technical standards and which comply with all their QHSE requirements. Additionally, it means complying with the statutory QHSE requirements of the country in which we are operating. Doing the job right the first time and doing it safely must be a primary business objective. This and the continual pursuit of excellence will enable EGYCO to achieve and maintain the highest practicable standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment. Everyone within the organization, as well as our contractors, has an essential part to play in ensuring EGYCO continues to improve all aspects of its operational activities. Thus, ensuring we achieve our stated QHSE objectives and maintain and improve our profile as an organization, which can adapt and respond according to any operational requirements placed upon us. In recognizing the importance of quality, the Senior Management has appointed a dedicated Manager responsible for developing and managing the quality system. HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES Safety is a major concern on any construction site, and we, at EGYCO recognises the risks and our responsibilities to our workers and all of the stakeholders involved in our projects. We adopt a “safety first” lifecycle approach to construction ensuring that the highest standards are employed throughout the design and construction stages to create safe and pleasant environments for all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the project. Our goal is be accident free and to minimise disturbance and nuisance to third party stakeholders with our construction activities. In support of the HSE Policy, EGYCO has adopted OHSAS 18001:2007 as the control standard for its activities and operates within an established HSE system designed to meet the requirements of this standard. 7 E&A/AD/CP/01-Rev.03 Date: 17.12.15 COMPANY PROFILE HSE POLICY EGYCO’s policy is to provide a safe and productive work environment for all our personnel and customers. In this regard and according to the company’s policy we are committed to: Ensure zero harm to people and environment by pursuing the goal of zero accidents. Promote a positive safety culture in all operations. Identify and eliminate the hazards, practices, and behaviors which are unsafe and cause accidents. Prevent the pollution and minimize environmental impact by reducing the waste and discharge and adopting the best practices. Comply with all the applicable statutory and mandatory QHSE requirements, legislation and regulations of U.A.E and the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 standards. Continual improvement & prevention of pollution, injury & ill health. Provide framework for setting & reviewing environmental, health & safety objectives and targets. Motivate all employees in order to create a safe and healthy workplace which would protect the environment. Accomplish the QHSE goals by clearly defining the roles and responsibilities and providing the appropriate resources. Establish, implement and maintain the QHSE MS through the involvement of the management and personnel. ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES At EGYCO, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously, so many of our initiatives go beyond what we are required to do by law. By taking steps to reduce the impact of our work on the environment, we can play a positive part in protecting it for the future. Proper planning, allows us to minimise waste, recycling where possible, and we keep our use of toxic and hazardous materials to an absolute minimum, seeking to use environmentally preferable materials from sustainable sources wherever possible. In order to comply with its legal, regulatory and other business obligations and to be compliant with ADEHSMS guidelines to prevent pollution and continually improve its environmental performance, the Company operates an Environmental Management System (EMS), which complies with the requirement of ISO 14001:2004. As part of this system all sites will have an Environmental Management program framework with specific, periodically revised SMART objectives and targets and address its aspects and impacts through the development and maintenance of an environmental plan. Particular consideration will be given to: Emissions to air – noise, dust, vibration, fumes and smoke Emission to water – fuel, silt and other chemicals. Contaminated land and damage to flora and fauna. The continuing development, education and training of employees, suppliers and other stakeholders will be a key activity in the implementation of the EMS.
