She has such a strong commitment to hospice patients and the VNA,” said Tracey Soethe, Volunteer Coordinator. Hospice care is a philosophy that is no stranger to Edie. The Buffalo, New York native moved to the Sebastian area thirteen years ago with her husband. In 2006, when her husband became ill, she enlisted the help of VNA Hospice. Having never used any VNA services prior, she was grateful and impressed with the care that he received. In 2007, after her husband’s passing, Edie began volunteering for VNA Hospice and has been donating her time ever since. “Volunteering for VNA Hospice is my way of giving back to them,” said Edie.
