For Immediate Release Eye Empire to Release Debut
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE EYE EMPIRE TO RELEASE DEBUT DOUBLE ALBUM IMPACT ON JUNE 19, 2012 UPCOMING FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH & VOLBEAT DATES NEW YORK, NY (May 1, 2012) – After spending the last year and a half on the road developing their songs and live following Eye Empire will release their debut album Impact worldwide on June 19 th . However, in a bold move, the band’s debut will be a double CD set. Impact features 19 studio recordings, three acoustic performances and two live cuts of crowd favorites. The album will be released by Bulldog Productions, and distributed by Vertusent / RED. The origin of Eye Empire began in 2007 when Corey Lowery (Stuck Mojo/Stereomud/Dark New Day) and B.C. Kochmit (Switched) began to collaborate on songs. After a couple of years of writing and searching for the right voice, Donald Carpenter (Submersed) joined the group in October of 2009, followed by former Texas Hippie Coalition drummer Ryan Bennett. The band’s debut album runs the gamut of sounds from the aggressive opener “I Pray,” to the melodic crossover future smashes “More Than Fate,” and “Last One Home.” It’s clear upon one listen to Impact that Eye Empire knows how to write a hook and rock it out. There is a running theme through the album of “Love, Respect, Support,” and this philosophy has been the band’s operating mantra. Track one on Impac t, “I Pray” began receiving major airplay on SiriusXM’s Octane channel way before the band had even finished their album. Additionally multiple commercial radio stations across the country supported the track. -

A Music Therapy Trauma-Informed Care Treatment Manual for the Forensic Mental Health Setting
A Music Therapy Trauma-Informed Care Treatment Manual for the Forensic Mental Health Setting by Amy Smith, MT-BC A Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirement for the Master of Arts Degree Master of Arts in Music Therapy Program in the Departments of Graduate Studies and Music and Theatre Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana December, 2020 Abstract The growing awareness of the potential impact of traumatic experiences has increased throughout health care facilities across the United States in recent years (Maul, 2017; Tello, 2019). Research has shown the effectiveness of using trauma-informed care interventions when working with the forensic mental health population across many allied health professions (Carr et al., 2012; MacIntosh, 2003; Sajnani, 2019; Sutton, 2002). As this recognition has led to an increase in research, it has also highlighted a gap within the field of music therapy. Those working within forensic mental health settings face the complexities of trauma permeating throughout their work. This project was developed to serve as a guide to effective interventions music therapists can use when working in forensic mental health settings. A 14-week music therapy session plan includes psychoeducational components about trauma and skills that are imperative for group members to develop in order to navigate life. ii Acknowledgements I would like to give special thanks to Annette Whitehead-Pleaux, M.A., MT-BC for believing in me from the beginning. Your wisdom, inspiration, and thoughtfulness throughout this entire process was greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Dr. Tracy Richardson, Ph.D., MT-BC for providing guidance and encouragement to undertake the creation of this project. -

Comments Neil Sanderson about their new single: “Sonically, we wanted to create a ‘machine-like’ sound in parts of the song. We were inspired by the images from the opening scene of Tim Burton's ‘Edward Scissorhands’…relentless machines turning and churning, never ceasing to operate. Lyrically the song is about how sometimes you feel like you are in an endless routine and cannot escape. -
