DAMIAN WARNER WARMS UP FOR RIO OLYMPICS AT ATHLETICS ONTARIO CHAMPIONSHIPS “He’ll be ready to do the best he’s ever done”- Coach Vickie Croley, Western Club

WINDSOR –Damian Warner will add one more tune up event at this weekends Athletics Ontario Provincial Bantam, Midget, Youth (BMY) Championships and Combined Events Championships hosted at the University of Windsor Friday July 22-Sunday July 24, 2016 before representing Team at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Competing in the men’s shot put and 400-meter race at this weekends BMY Championships, Warner, who trains with the London Western Track and Field Club will look to have a strong showing before heading off to Brazil.

Coach Vickie Croley is confident Damian Warner’s preparation and training will pay off. “He’ll do the best he’s ever done,” she said. “Damian’s preparation is going as planned leading up to Rio. We’re all excited for him to represent London and Canada on the world’s biggest stage.”

After setting a Canadian record for at the 2015 Pan Am Games, taking home gold. Warner has hungry for more, setting a decathlon record earlier this year in the Hypo Meet in Gortzis, Austria in the 100-meter sprint with a staggering time of 10.15 seconds.

Warner won’t be the only athlete looking to set a new record, 15-year-old Myles Misener-Daley of the Hamilton Olympic club will look to break the midget boys 200- meter track record. Well 13- year-old Arthur Stanat of St. Thomas Legion Track and Field will strive for a new field record in the bantam boys shot put.
