In-villa experiences IN-VILLA IN-VILLA IN-VILLA DINING SPA SERVICES Flexibility for you, our guest, is one of the best parts of a villa stay. You can just arrive, relax, unwind and enjoy your vacation here. We’ll take care of the rest. If possible, we welcome the chance to talk to you before you arrive, find out what you and your family or friends enjoy and help make recommendations to ensure everything is tailored specifically to meet your individual requirements. Would you like an in-house chef and fully-stocked pantry on arrival? Need a babysitter or pram? Would a massage at the end of the day suit you? Or are you in need of a facial and manicure? We can even arrange for a heated spa pool to be delivered straight to your villa. It may be that you want a concierge with you each morning to help plan your daily activities. We will get the essentials (bread, milk, breakfast ingredients etc.) and beautiful gourmet deli items. Think freshly made terrines and pates, award-winning cheeses, artisan meats, fresh fruit and vegetables and sweet treats, which we think, are absolutely allowed on holiday! Cost is $75 per hour for shopping, delivery and unpacking groceries. WE COOK IT – YOU HEAT IT A beautifully prepared dinner ready and waiting to go. After a busy day of adventuring, this is one of our favourite treats. Meals can be delivered to your villa while you are out and about enjoying Queenstown. The meals are ready to go with easy, last minute finishing touch instructions provided. Heat and eat at your leisure to enjoy at the table or fantastic ‘bowl’ food beside the fire. Contact us for a sample menu and indicative pricing. DINNER IS SERVED Your own in-house chef – 5 star cuisine prepared in your villa kitchen. A favourite with MajorDomo guests is having someone else do the cooking and the dishes! The three course meal will be 5 star restaurant quality but hosted in the privacy and luxury of your own villa. The experience can be as interactive or discrete as you wish. We find many of our guests end up in the kitchen, talking with our chefs – it often turns into a mini masterclass! You will leave with some fantastic cooking tips and ideas. This is a fabulous option if you are celebrating a birthday or just the fact you are finally taking a well-deserved holiday. In-villa dining COOKING CLASSES This is your chance to have a private cooking class in the luxury of your own villa. Our chefs are experienced in delivering informative and entertaining masterclass cooking presentations. They are extremely knowledgeable about New Zealand and international food and wine. Experience coupled with bubbly personalities, will make the class a highlight of your stay. Enjoy an afternoon cooking with chef, learning insider tips to turn the freshest local ingredients into a fabulous dinner party. Aftewards relax and enjoy the dinner with friends or family. Your chef will teach you how to cook a three course meal matched with local award winning wines to accompany it. In-villa spa All you have to do is answer the door and relax. This professional team of experienced physio and massage therapists are dedicated to your wellbeing. Using principles of aromatherapy, music therapy and massage skills our leading mobile service brings the massage and spa experience to your villa. Please note there is a 1 hour minimum call out. A $20 travel surcharge, per therapist, applies for guests staying outside of Queenstown.     NZSki “Life As It Ought To Be” As the NZSki CEO James Coddington looked out over the spectacular vista afforded by the Remarkables mountain range - taking in the New Zealand tourist hub of Queenstown - he contemplated the future for his company. “We’re at a tipping point,” he suggested, “things could go either way. We’ve been gradually building momentum over the last few years. But we have to keep moving forward. We certainly have room to cope with more skiers, but if all we do is get more skiers on the mountains we will actually reduce the customer experience from what it is now. That will mean less skiers in the future, a weakened brand, and the undoing of a lot of good work over the last few years.” Figure 1: New Zealand’s Ski Areas NZSki operated 3 skifields – Coronet Peak and the Remarkables in Queenstown and Mount Hutt in Canterbury. Recent growth since Coddington’s appointment in 2007 has been spectacular. The 2009 season was the most successful season on record. As a company, skier/rider numbers were up 29% over 2008 and revenue was up 22% - despite the economic recession. “When I began we were getting 180,000 – 200,000 people a year on Coronet Peak, but now we’re at 330,000. The biggest single day in 2007 saw around 4000 people, but this year we had 7777 people in one day. With our old infrastructure we simply couldn’t have coped – but the completely rebuilt base building, and completion of the snowmaking system and our investments in lift and pass technology have paid huge dividends in protecting the experience.
