Will Overs, Tuggeranong young talent and club favourite is fast winning a reputation as a fine p.p. footballer in the division 1 competition. He has been a very successful junior but there are many stories of talented juniors littering the pages of non achiever annals. In a big match for the Hawks Will withstood some fierce competition to play a key role in the great victory last weekend. Not blessed with the ‘Ghirardello guns’ yet, Will was prepared to risk his body when outweighed in nearly every contest. As discouraging as I would be of young players looking to be treated in physio rooms Will’s selfless efforts last weekend and preparedness to put himself in dangerous positions make him the winner of the Kingston Physio Body on the Line Award.

The win was all the more meritorious for BOOK TODAY being 5 goals down at quarter time and kicking into a stiff last quarter breeze. No Hawk was more valuable than their undersized key forward Mat Ghirardello who kicked six Dickson 6262 5500 Belconnen 6253 5500 Manuka 6295 2700 goals. Mat has been recognised previously for the quality of his play with selection in the Rep Team last year. Well known for is occasional visit to the gym, to quote Mat himself, he has a level of skill that creates chances when most players cannot see them. As a ZIP INTO ZEFFERS! forward this very useful and as someone without the size of most key position forwards Mat has to be creative. For his match winning performance last week Mat earns himself www.zeffirelli.com.au the CUB Player of the Week award.
