After politics one of many positions included adjudicator in public speaking in the City of Sydney eisteddfod. 1960 Olav Nordland The Norwegian Consul to Australia opened the festival in recognition of Henry Lawson’s Norwegian heritage. Nordland was delighted to see the festival as a centre of the arts, allowing expression through music, literature and poetry. He praised the hospitality of Grenfell and said the festival was one of his most delightful official duties. Nordland declared he would carry the memory of his visit to Grenfell for the rest of his life. 1961 Sir Eric Woodward KCVO Born on 21st July 1899 at Hay, he grew up on various properties in NSW and Queensland.
