SUMMARY - DR. C.A. MUMMA-MARTINON Currently, I am Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. I have a PhD in Political Science from the University of Leipzig, Germany, with a focus on International Conflict Management, a Masters in Diplomacy and International Studies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations both at the University of Nairobi. I have taught at the European Peace University, the Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations, the Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, the National Defense College, the National Staff College and the National Intelligence Academy, Kenya 1

among others. I have also worked as a Social Affairs Manager at Total Exploration and Production, Kenya; an Environmental and Social Affairs Coordinator for Total Exploration and Production, Uganda; a Resident Consultant for reconciliation at the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission, Kenya; the head of Applied Research, Facilitator and Curriculum Development Officer at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) and a teacher in several High Schools in Kenya including Loreto Convent Valley Road, Lwak Girls High School, Usenge and Onjiko Boys High Schools, among others. For the last ten years, I have supervised PhD, Masters and Postgraduate students in different Universities.

SOCIAL AFFAIRS MANAGER-TOTAL EXPLORATION & PRODUCTION KENYA (2013-2017) Main Achievements  Designed, implemented and completed several local development projects at the Coastal Counties of Kenya. i) Tana River County: rehabilitation of classrooms at Farah Primary School, repair and stocking of a library and staffroom at Shirikisho Primary School and construction of a water harvesting facility at Kipao Primary School. ii) Kilifi County: Rehabilitation of boreholes and construction of water kiosks in Shariani village. iii) Lamu County: Stocking a dispensary and procurement of medical equipment at the Referral hospital.  Chair of the Public Awareness Committee – Kenya Oil and Gas Association (2004)  Lead and coordinated the initiation of the Msc in Petroleum Geosciences at the Department of Geology – University of Nairobi (2014-2017)  Wrote a booklet on; ‘A to Z of Oil and Gas in Kenya,’ two Bi- Annual  Reports on Social Affairs activities, compiled raw data and reports on each Local development Project at the county level.

ENVIRONMENT AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS COORDINATOR- KENYAN SECTION: TOTAL EXPLORATION & PRODUCTION, UGANDA- (2014/2015) Main Achievement  Coordinated and oversaw to completion the Study on Oil and Gas Pipeline study (the Southern Corridor – the Kenyan section).

RESIDENT RECONCILIATION CONSULTANT- TRUTH JUSTICE AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION- KENYA (2011 -2012) Main Achievement  Chaired and coordinated a group of over 100 reference groups comprising different individuals, organizations and institutions from different part of Kenya, ranging from government officials, Non-Governmental Organizations, religious organizations, civil society organizations, academia, youth, women groups, and community based organizations etc. The Reference Group developed the “National Reconciliation Agenda for Kenya in 2012 which was submitted to the President of the Republic of Kenya.

HEAD OF APPLIED RESEARCH, TRAINER AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT OFFICER AT THE INTERNATIONAL PEACE SUPPORT TRAINING CENTRE (2009 -2011) Main Achievement  Guided and worked with a team of researchers in conducting research all over Africa and publishing several occasional papers, articles, issue briefs and newsletters.  Organized workshops, seminars, colloquiums and workshops.  Chaired the development of curriculum in the following courses: Conflict Analysis, Preventive Diplomacy, Dialogue, Negotiation and Mediation.  Trained peace keepers, practitioners and government officials in Peace Support Operations, Regional Bodies and Regional Economic Communities in Africa.  Conducted training evaluations and validations on the ground and in Peace Support Operations.  Chief Editor for the Centre’s Newsletters.
