Boum is 45-of-53 for the sea- son, while shooting 86.9 percent (167-192) in a UTEP uniform. Bieniemy averaged 19.0 points on 16-of-26 (61.5 percent) shooting, 3.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists. He added a 4-for-8 effort on Monday, March 1 threes with two steals and two blocked shots, and only turned the ball over three times. On Jan. 1, Bieniemy scored 18 points on 9-15 shooting and tallied seven assists, and followed with a game-high 20 points on 4-5 three-pointers and racked up another seven dimes. More impressive, he didn’t record a turnover. DISHING DIMES Jamal Bieniemy ranks fourth in Conference USA and 37th nationally in assists per game (5.6). Bieniemy has 14 assists in his last two games. Souley Boum is averaging 3.1 assists per game after dishing out four on Jan. 2 at Southern Miss. Boum’s 11 helpers against Sul Ross State were the most by a Miner since the 2016-17 season.
