GENERAL DESCRIPTION: During this rotation, the medical student will follow patients, both outpatient and inpatient. The student will become familiar with various procedures, including surgical and office procedures. The student will develop a working knowledge of the specifics of pulmonary involving children.

OBJECTIVES: 1. Improve the student’s ability to perform an accurate and complete history and physical exam, with the primary focus in Pediatric Pulmonology. 2. Improve the student’s ability to develop and execute a management plan for patients, including both a diagnostic workup and specific treatment options in the field of Pediatric Pulmonology for both acute and chronic disorders. 3. Improve the student’s ability to retrieve and assimilate specific evidence and knowledge into their patient care activities with a focus on Pediatric Pulmonology. 4. Enhance the student’s ability to effectively interact in a consistently professional manner with patient’s families and medical personnel.
