K Brought to you by the Officers, Members, and Staff of LEADERSHIP AWARD RECIPIENT TERRY O’SULLIVAN General President, Laborers’ International Union of North America

Terry O’Sullivan is the General President of the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA), a 500,000-member strong trade union founded in 1903 by immigrants and other workers who rose up against abuse, exploitation, and discrimination. Since its founding, LIUNA has helped millions of hard-working men and women in many different sectors of the economy build better lives for themselves and their families.

Mr. O’Sullivan serves as Chairman of the Board of the LIUNA Charitable Foundation (LCF), which raises money to fund research into the diseases that are the major causes of illness and death among Laborers, their families, and the communities in which they live. Since it was established, the LCF has donated more than $6 million to a wide range of charitable organizations.

A proud citizen of both the United States and Ireland, Terry O’Sullivan also serves as President of New York Friends of Ireland, and Chairman of DC Friends of Ireland, and has overseen these charities’ contributions of hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations that support veterans and their families, and that provide job training to those transitioning to civilian careers.

O’Sullivan believes we all have a sacred duty to leave the world better than the way that we found it, and that significant charitable giving is a critical part of this duty. Over the years, he has lent his name to fund raising events for a wide range of charitable and social justice organizations.

Born in San Francisco, California, Terry O’Sullivan joined LIUNA in 1974, and is a long-time member of LIUNA Local Union 1353 in Charleston, West Virginia. Proud to support the MARCH OF DIMES 44th Annual Construction & Labor Breakfast
