KELSEA STARTS OFF HER EPISODE BY SAYING THAT SHE FELT LIKE A “FLOATER” IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL, MEANING THAT SHE DIDN’T HAVE JUST ONE GROUP OF FRIENDS THAT SHE ASSOCIATED WITH. Do you identify yourself as a floater? How are floaters perceived and treated at your school?

2. IN LEARNING HOW TO BECOME MORE OF AN INDIVIDUAL, KELSEA HAD TO RECOGNIZE HOW HER FLAWS AND HER DIFFERENCES DEFINED HER. Think of a characteristic or quality about yourself that someone might identify as a flaw. How does this characteristic help make you a unique individual? How would you be different if you didn’t have this quality?

IN HER FIRST MEETING, KELSEA PLAYED A SONG AND WAS TOLD BY THE HEAD OF THE LABEL THAT, “THERE’S ALREADY A .” WHILE THIS WAS PAINFUL FOR HER TO HEAR, IT HELPED KELSEA LEARN A VALUABLE LESSON ON INDIVIDUALITY. Has a family member, friend, coach, or teacher ever said something similar to you? How did you respond? Did you get discouraged and give up? Or did you learn from it and move forward?

4. THINK OF A MUSICIAN, ARTIST, ACTOR, OR ATHLETE THAT YOU ADMIRE BECAUSE OF THEIR INDIVIDUALITY. Describe three qualities or actions that make them different from others in their profession.

5 . ALTHOUGH IT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO ACCOMPLISH, KELSEA BELIEVES THAT, “WHEN YOU CAN BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN, . . . THAT’S WHEN YOU’RE GOING TO BE THE HAPPIEST IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.” Think about a time when you’ve felt comfortable in your own skin. What were you doing? How does expressing yourself help achieve this feeling?
