The M series made a huge splash in the world of ever since it launched earlier this year. Pushing the limits of battery capacity in a , Samsung has put a gigantic mAh number on its latest offering. The Samsung Galaxy M30s is loaded fully with a capacity of 6000mAh. This new smartphone from Samsung is no less than a ‘Monster’. With such a huge battery, Samsung went on a quest to test the true power of its upcoming smartphone. Samsung’s epic #GoMonster on one charge challenge has been the talk of the town for all the exciting reasons!

The Challenge from Samsung was simple,

- To showcase new disruptive innovation around battery - Intrigue out TG to learn more about the innovation - Highlight possibilities/opportunities attached with this innovation. - Excite them to explore the new smartphone - Capture maximum intent signals or sign-ups during the teaser and pre-launch phase to boost sales.

Background: Samsung announced one of the biggest and coolest challenges that dared celebrities to embark on a journey that will make them #GoMonster on one charge. With its ​ ​ #GoMonster on One Charge challenge, Amit Sadh took on a #MonsterTrail from Leh to Pangong to Hanle, on dusty roads, through remote locations to fulfil a monstrous promise. Sadh’s partner in the journey was Samsung Galaxy M30s that stood by him through the treacherous terrains where he clicked so many pictures, used his GPS and played games in his breaks. Popular Bollywood actor and adventure junkie Amit Sadh was challenged to go on a treacherous route in just one battery life of the Samsung Galaxy M30s. Amit then passed on ​ the challenge to ace mountaineer Arjun Vajpai, who scaled the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, when he was barely 17-years-old. He was challenged to catch the first sunrise at Arunachal’s Dong valley and the last sunset in Kutch, Gujarat in one day and he had to #GoMonster on this journey with just one battery life on the new Samsung Galaxy M30s.Not ​ only did the device enable him to capture the first sunrise of India beautifully, but the smartphone also lived throughout his 3500kms+ journey without him having to charge it even once. And yes, it did capture the last sunset of India as well.

Objective:

The new Galaxy M30s features a whopping 6000 mAh battery that has been designed to fit into the ‘always on’ lifestyle of Indian millennials. Our #GoMonster challenge was conceptualised to showcase the phone’s monstrous battery life.

Strategy: Real organic and seamless, this is a story of the challenge, primarily. The phone is ​ carefully woven in to showcase its battery longevity, infinity display and wide camera through situations. First person voiceover treatment makes the journey personal, anecdotal and at times tense. There are milestone time and battery life checks to ensure the idea of race comes through. The same was replicated in 8 regional languages as well.

Results: The campaign went live across Times Internet network, including the Times Of India, ​ vernacular publications Navbharat Times and Gadgets Now with videos, social media posts and articles - receiving 49 million views. The content reached 330 million people, surpassing expectations by 359%. In fact, a lift study conducted by Times Internet demonstrated a brand awareness lift of 12% and an overall ad recall of 54%
