I am providing you with links to the majority of the software you will need for my tutorials, along with my customized plugins and encoding settings. The ones I dont make or have a link for, just search google for it.

This will provide you all you need and more to follow my encoding tutorials. There is also a full list of things to use with descriptions for what each one is for.

First off, there are a few things your going to need first in order to encode with the method I use.

Proper Codecs (Which can be found by installing Combined Community Codec Pack or the KLite Codec Pack)

AnyDVD HD (For decrypting and removing protection from BluRays and DVD's so you can rip them) [This is the best one I know of for my purposes and its what I use. DVDDecrypter can do most DVD's without it, this is mostly going to be used for BluRays and once in a while DVD's that are too new for DVDDecrypter to know what to do with it] Lite (This is for mounting a virtual disc drive so that you can use ISO's or disc images as if it were the actual disc being inside your drive) DVDDecrypter (Or a program that does the same things and can rip a DVD in IFO Mode) [IMGBurn will not rip protected DVD's and BluRays. You will need another program like AnyDVD to remove protection first if you want to use it] DVDFab (For BluRay video to your hard drive if your doing BluRay) FLVExtract (For extracting tracks from .FLV files) MeGui AVISynth (Be sure to download all of the plugins I have included and move them into the plugins directory of AVISynth in Program Files (x86) or you wont be able to use the filters in your scripts) [I recommend you back all your plugins up to another folder incase you had something I didnt and want to keep it. Then delete them from the plugins folder, and then copy mine over] MKVToolnix SubRip SubExtract (For BluRay Subtitles if doing BluRay and for DVD subtitles if you wish to save as .ASS) VSRip (Not required unless you want to save DVD subtitles as .ASS instead of .SRT) Aegisub (Not required for encoding or ripping subtitles but nice to have for subtitle conversions and retiming) MediaInfo (Not needed for encoding, but a very nice and handy tool that is highly recommended when working with alot of media files) Microsoft C++ (This is required for certain avisynth plugins to be able to function)

======

Now lets describe what each one of these does so you get a basic understanding of what these are and what they do.

AnyDVD HD This is used to rip your BluRay's to your Hard Drive so that you end up with .M2TS files to work with when encoding (Use if you are ripping the entire disc and not just parts of it, or if you dont want to use DVDFab) Its also used for decrypting and removing protection from BluRays and DVD's so you can rip them to your hard drive. Daemon Tools Lite This is for mounting a virtual disc drive so that you can use ISO's or disc images as if it were the actual disc DVDDecrypter Is used to rip your DVD to your Hard Drive so that you end up with .VOB files to work with when encoding. DVDFab Is used to rip your BluRay to your Hard Drive so that you end up with .M2TS files to work with when encoding. FLVExtract Is used to extract the audio and video from the .FLV file you ripped from the web so you can work with them to be encoded. MeGui The main program you will be using for setting up and preparing your source files for encoding with AVISynth. (This will be the actual encoding program that uses your AVISynth scripts to make your encoded video) AVISynth The program you use to apply filters to your video which make changes and improve the source video as needed. (You do not run this program like a program, it is run by making and using .avs files with notepad or MeGui) MKVToolnix This is used to mux all the finished Video, Audio, and Subtitle files into an MKV file. Its also used to extract tracks from MKV Files. Subrip This program is used to rip DVD subtitles using OCR aka character recognition and save them into a .SRT or other chosen format. SubExtract This program is used to rip BluRay subtitles using OCR and save them into .SRT or .ASS format. VSRip This program is used to rip DVD subtitles into a .IDX file so that you can OCR subtitles easier and save them as .SRT or .ASS format. Aegisub This program is used for making, styling, or editing .ASS subtitle files. It can also be used to convert .ASS into .SRT subtitle files. MediaInfo This program will tell you pretty much every single detail about your media file. There more than likely wont be a thing you dont know about the file after checking it with this program. It will tell info like the different Video, Audio, and Subtitle tracks. It mentions their kbps, the encoding settings, so many details and information types that I wont bother to list them all. This just happens to be a large help and a very handy tool. Its not need for the encoding. Microsoft C++ This is required for certain avisynth plugins to be able to function.

AVISynth Plugins

https://mega.nz/#!xhIyBSJT!aojVjejMbYB0oIvNs4Kz7GtDffOXn5BeYNhBqMZ2Gfw

NOTE: Move them into the plugins directory of AVISynth in Program Files (x86) (If you didn't download my MeGui and settings, be sure to copy them into the tools/avisynth_plugins directory of MeGui)

MeGui (My settings and plugins included)

https://mega.nz/#!ctQk3BaR!mo3HtGadvIjKHpS3LR3TIqkSaRAbfiDAkFwRJZMhGkc

NOTE: You will need to make sure you have NeroAac and MeGui's settings properly set up in order to be able to use the audio encoder for AAC audio. (My set up for you MeGui upload comes with this included so you wont have to download it)

In MeGui, click Options, then Settings. Go to External Program Settings tab. Browse for neroAacEnc.exe so it knows where it is. It should be in the MeGui folder wherever you put the folder at if you downloaded mine. Then save your settings. (Make sure its the neroAacEnc.exe and not the neroAacDec.exe or neroAacTag.exe one that you browse for to tell MeGui where it is)

Then just exit MeGui and reopen it.

That is required to be able to encode AAC audio. If MeGui doesn't know where it is, then it cant use it and you will get an error when trying to encode the audio.

MeGui (My settings and plugins included) has been updated with my better, more current settings that I use as of today. If you want the updated settings with better results, just redownload it and replace your old one with it.
