Throughout those years, the university strengthened its international position, as many of its programs and colleges were granted academic accreditation. The university’s rise of academic excellence reflects its social obligation to develop the best academic programs and fund the right research projects. It is working effortlessly to provide the local labor market with the best graduates who can support the economy and help in reaching the vision and aspirations of the country. Qatar University understands the needs of Qatar’s society and works to meet these needs through a variety of methods that include the enhancement of the current programs and the development of new ones. Furthermore, it works towards providing solutions to the country’s national challenges through scientific research. Qatar University, aims since its inception in 1977, to build a comprehensive program that results in well- developed alumni who can interact with the needs of the society in the best mental, psychological and physical capacities. As part of its continuous growth, Qatar University recently launched the College of Dental Medicine to support the drive towards a knowledge-based economy and to provide the community with outstanding medical professionals in this important field. At Qatar University, we believe that human development cannot be achieved in isolation from health care. This is why the university established the Health Cluster in 2017 as a general umbrella for the Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Health Sciences and now the College of Dental Medicine. Through this cluster, Qatar University provides the health sector in Qatar with qualified graduates who understand the local needs and culture. The cluster will also conduct scientific research that will contribute to the development of the health and medicine sectors in the country and beyond. Furthermore, Qatar University celebrated National Sports Day 2019 along with the country’s prominent institutions to consolidate the idea of integrating physical and mental health. Sports today is no longer merely a physical exercise, it is a message of love that brings individuals from different cultures together and a bridge between the East and the West.
