If you can not clearly read this message, please click here. Itching eyes, running nose... Ladies and Gentlemen The days are growing longer, and with it, plants are blooming in each and every corner. Some of us enjoy this, and for others, however, this marks the beginning of hard times: it's hay fever season. The eyes sting, itch and water, the nose is running, we suffer from sneezing fits, some patients even experience respiratory problems. What a pity it is that allergy sufferers cannot fully enjoy nature's joyful revitalization. The treatment of acute hay fever mainly focuses on alleviating the symptoms. Biological medicine offers a number of supporting, soothing remedies e.g. from the sectors of homeopathy, spagyrics, anthroposophical medicine, and phytotherapy. The appropriate preparation is individually defined and prescribed. The pharmacy staff is readily available to advise you personally. As usual, this approach is also broad in its application, that is, it helps the body regain its balance in order to alleviate acute symptoms. Consequentially, the adverse side effects typical for conventional allergy treatments – such as fatigue and/or lethargy – don't occur. Therefore, the patients can still enjoy springtime's jauntiness. All those who are already concerned about next springtime may use autumn to inform themselves on the preventive measures applied in winter. I wish all of you a splendid and joyful springtime. Sabine Hockenjos Head of Pharmacy Member Management Board 1 New dentist to support our team In order to support our dentist team, Mrs. DDS Marianne Bühlmann has joined in as Swiss graduate dentist SSO. Mrs. Bühlmann has assumed key functions in various professional associations and is a well renowned dentist. We highly appreciate being able to engage her as dentist recognized with profound experience in holistic dentistry. With the addition of Mrs. Bühlmann DDS , we will now be able to accommodate new patient appointments more quickly. Natural health professionals meeting at Paracelsus Clinic On March 23, 2012 we were able to welcome 35 natural health professionals and practitioners at Paracelsus Klinik Lustmühle to participate in advanced dental training. A little more than a year ago, we started establishing a network with natural health practitioners seeking a partner in holistic dentistry. The idea was based on inquiries from numerous natural practitioners searching for a practice where applied bio-compatible materials and well-tolerated purging and detoxification methods are utilized. Dental problems frequently cause general medical conditions, which are not expected or identified by orthodox criteria. Such problems may for instance be based on non-tolerated materials, devitalized teeth, infections, irregular tooth positions, and forgotten residual roots. These «latent» problems frequently supersede the body's ability to regenerate and thus result in chronic diseases that would usually never be related to the respective patient's dental situation. As is obvious, the network aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience as well as rewarding cooperation. Acting as partner, 2 Paracelsus Clinic provides the respective dental services. The cooperation's top goal: an improved healing potential for the patients. This meeting was already the third respective event. More than 50 natural professionals and practitioners have by now joined the network to benefit from the profound know-how of Paracelsus Clinic's dentists. Digestive Health and Colon Hydrotherapy An Introduction Consider for a moment how often you've consumed food (and will), and for how many years. This certainly will come out to a very large number, and further, you can easily recognize how much food influences your health. In fact, and though water is necessary for hydration purposes, and 'air' (oxygen) for the millions of chemical reactions, food constitutes the single most factor that allows us to grow, recover from stress and heal from illnesses. With food being such a factor, our digestive system must be kept as healthy as possible in order for us to derive the necessary nutrients from food, while also excreting toxins and other wastes from our body. One of the ways of supporting this effect is through the preventative and therapeutic practice of colon hydrotherapy. Colon Hydrotherapy, Brief Description Contrary to an enema which only accesses the rectum and descending colon, colon hydrotherapy extends over the entire length of the large intestine. With an intestinal tube inserted into the rectum, filtered water is introduced, and intestinal contents are thinned and led out through a discharge hose. This 30-50 minute therapy is facilitated under low water pressure, at an ambient water temperature and supported by a light massage to the abdomen by the therapist. In its effective way, slow-to-be-mobilized waste materials are released, and what is left behind is an exposed, intestinal lining that can begin to repair and rebuild itself. Guidelines On the day of the therapy, please don't consume raw fruits and vegetables, though steamed veggies, grains (rice, millet, quinoa) or potatoes are allowable. Directly after the therapy, it is advised that you spend some time on the toilet, as well as walking up and down stairs; both practices assist in eliminating any remaining contents from the colon. Further, a healthful consumption of water, tea or bouillon will help replace lost fluids after colon hydrotherapy. Conclusion Due to the many conditions that we all experience, the weakest link is typically our digestive system, and is invariably the first to be compromised. Supporting its vital function of detoxification, absorption 3 and elimination, the use of colon hydrotherapy within a foundational health program can assist in restoring health and promoting one's well- being.
