NORFOLK CENTRE RALLY PROGRAMME 2021 www.norfolkcentre.co.uk Letter from the Chairman Hello everyone and welcome to the 2021/2 rally season with the Norfolk Centre. I am honoured and privileged to be your new Chairman and look forward to working with your new committee as we continue to face the challenges of the global pandemic on our Centre; my thanks go to Andy Patterson for ably leading the committee through a turbulent year that saw rallies cancelled in unprecedented numbers due to ‘lock-downs’ and other rapidly changing restrictions. It has been a tough year nationally with some Centres folding and many continuing to struggle; I am absolutely determined that the Norfolk Centre will prevail no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. Our priority will be to offer our members a safe rally programme that is compliant with Government and Head Office guidelines as, hopefully, restrictions ease and allow us back out in our caravans and motorhomes to catch up with old friends, make some new ones and relax and enjoy a change of scenery; things we have all been desperately short of in 2020. My thanks go to the Marshals who have committed to running rallies in these uncertain times, I hope that as many members as possible are able to support these rallies and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this coming year. We simply would not be able to rally if it wasn’t for the time and effort put in by the Marshals, please remember that they, like the committee, are volunteers who give their time and energy for the benefit of us all. If you would like to run a rally or volunteer as an Assistant Marshal to see at first hand what it involves, please contact me or any committee member as we would be glad to answer your questions and tell you what it's all about! Now, more than ever, it is important to keep checking our website and Facebook page, 'Friends Of The Norfolk Centre’, as we will publish updates on rallies and let you know how the ever-changing pandemic restrictions are impacting our rally programme. Let me assure you that we have a strong and determined committee who are ready and able to face the challenges of 2021, and, with your support, get the Norfolk Centre back rallying for everyone’s benefit and enjoyment as soon as possible! Julie and I look forward to seeing you soon. With best wishes, Nick Nick Flower, Chairman The Caravan & Motorhome Club, Norfolk Centre Centre Officers & Committee Chairman & Regional Council Rep. Arrangements for obtaining the equipment should be made through the Centre Equipment Officer ([email protected]) The following equipment is available for Rally Marshals: Electric or Gas Urn (boiler) Pitch Pegs Rally signs Large Tea Pot Coleman Shelters (2) ARE YOU THINKING OF ATTENDING YOUR FIRST RALLY? The Norfolk Centre would be pleased to welcome you to any of the rallies listed in the rally programme book. Our rallies are simply a gathering of Caravan Club members, for a weekend or holiday, to promote friendship and common interests, in a light hearted manner and having some fun along the way. We negotiate attractive rates for the rallies and very often you can stay on site for a fraction of the normal cost. The rally Marshals are ordinary Centre members who have volunteered their time to run and organise the rally, which includes arranging the site and services, signing the approach to the rally field and arranging any programme of entertainment, which may include social evenings, local events, competitions and sports activities, or perhaps a trip. All of which you may join in, or of course, you are free to do your own thing. It is simple to book these rallies. Just complete one of the attached rally booking slips and email it to the rally marshal giving them as much notice as possible, and not later than the stipulated slip return date. You will find their name, email and telephone number at the bottom of each of the rally details. If there is no email address please call the marshal for contact details. Slips may be sent by post but under the new data protection act we are not allowed to publish private addresses in this rally book. When you go to your booked rally, follow the directions given in the rally book, and when you are near the site you will see our direction signs which are YELLOW with CAMCNC RALLY in black lettering. As you enter the site you will see the rally marshals caravan, which is usually the first in the field and which will have a rally marshals sign beside it. Please stop by their caravan, introduce yourselves and advise them if it is your first rally. They will give you an envelope containing information of the programme for the rally, any competitions, tickets for socials or events that may have been arranged, your first rally plaque showing that you attended the rally, and printed on the front, your cost of the rally. You will then be shown to your pitch and helped to park up (if required). It is normal practice to park your car on the off-side (right) of your caravan, thus enabling easy access to all caravans for other ralliers and emergency vehicles. You will be shown where to find the drinking water tap and the toilet (Elsan) disposal point. Dry waste/rubbish should be taken home with you unless there are designated bins. The Chairman for the rally or the marshals will welcome you to our Centre and to your first rally. He/she will also tell you about the flagpole meeting which normally takes place towards the end of the rally, and is where we have a get-together, introduce our first ralliers and our visitors, thank our marshals, hold a raffle, give out details of future events and results of any competitions. Why not give it a try and please come and join us, as we all rally for pleasure and aim to share many enjoyable rallies. Booking & Payment for Rallies Booking When booking your rallies, please fully complete the rally slip (this information is essential to allow the correct planning of the rally site) and either post or email it to the rally marshal. Please note all deposits are non- refundable and the Centre reserves the right to charge a £10 non-attendance fee If there is a holiday rally that you would like to attend for a weekend or part week, simply telephone the rally marshal and ask them if they have space for you for the period you require. If possible, they will accommodate your needs. Please remember rally marshals are volunteers with other commitments so please help them to help you by supplying as much information as possible and completing documentation fully Please check for any cancellations at www.norfolkcentre.co.uk or the Facebook page Payment The rally book will advise how and when to make payment. If you are not sure please ask the marshals. As a result of Covid-19 cash payments are no longer allowed. The centre has invested in an electronic payment system called SumUp.
