Menace from the Deep is the tenth episode of the third series of the British comedy series Dad's Army. It was originally transmitted Menace from the Deep Thursday 13 November Marooned on the pier head, the platoon have no food or phone - then along comes Hodges and a sea-mine. Two sailors are patrolling the Walmington-on-Sea pier. They grumble that no one will be coming down to look after it for two weeks. They laugh as they realise the Home Guard will have to take over each night for a week. The platoon are discussing their latest assignment. Frazer will carry them over to the pier in boat, because he has the best Naval experience. Jones will provide food for the night, Walker will bring along a bottle of whisky and Wilson's brought some acid drops - Menace from the Deep it will be a "gastronomic orgy", according to Wilson. However, when Mainwaring attempts to teach them how to get into a boat, he and Frazer have a falling out and it is determined that Mainwaring will row them over, so it takes longer than expected to get Wilson and Frazer across. As Pike is the last man across, he will be in charge of securing the boat. Mainwaring quickly commandeers the only hammock, but Wilson persuades him that they should take it in turns, but Mainwaring will go first. Pike secures Menace from the Deep boat, Menace from the Deep leaves the food in it, so he goes to fetch it. However, he comes back dejected: he had tied the boat to the thinner telephone cable rather than the sturdier electricity cable because he "didn't want to get electricity-fied"but the boat is now gone, with all the food on it, and has disconnected the telephone. The platoon are cut off. Jones suggests using the window to signal Morse code to the shore to get help. ARP Warden Hodges spots it and rows out in a children's paddle boat to try to get them to switch it off. The boat sinks, and Hodges is stranded with the platoon. To calm him down, Walker gives him his bottle of whisky. Pike spots a crane game where the prize is chocolate. Frazer is the only one with pennies, but they fail at each attempt, so Walker steals some chocolate from inside the machine. All but one are cardboard, to the great distaste of everybody - except Frazer, who quickly scoffs his genuine bar of chocolate. Late in the night, the platoon are woken to Hodges' drunken singing. Mainwaring Menace from the Deep to Wilson "well what do you expect from a tradesman? At about am, Jones sees an unusual object through the floorboards, and alerts Mainwaring, who identifies it as a mine. They wake everybody up Menace from the Deep they try to hook it. Hodges scoffs at their attempts and tries to hook it himself. However, he falls in the water again, and, since the mine turns out to be magnetic, has to remove his metal helmet to prevent it following him. The platoon set up the Lewis Gun and fire at it with their rifles. However, the mine edges closer to Walmington. A soaking Hodges joins them and, using his expert bowling skills, manages to blow up the mine with a wooden boule. Menace from the Deep Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Dad's Army: A Companion. An OTK deck but can hold it's own while stalling and against dragged out fights. This deck is great because aside from it's OTK potential it has another setup that could win you the duel. The key card Sea Stealth Attack is very versatile Menace from the Deep as both protection and destruction. Always have A Legendary Ocean Menace from the Deep the field. You should never be without it anytime in the Duel. It opens up opportunities for you to summon your beaters, use your skill, and gives the powerful Sea Stealth attack it's effect. You can send Warrior of Atlantis from your hand to the grave and search A Legendary Ocean from your deck. Sea Stealth Attack is a very powerful and versatile support card for any deck with A Legendary Ocean at it's core. In fact it is the next key part of your Menace from the Deep, only next to A Legendary Ocean so you want to have it Menace from the Deep on the field as early as possible. If you have at least 1 WATER monster on your field, you now have access to unlimited protection for your face-up backrow, which is very important in a deck which relies heavily on it's field spell. You also get the equivalent of no cost once per turn monster removal if you have Giga Gagagigo or Terrorking Salmon on your field. A good combo for this is attacking directly with your Normal WATER monsters using your skill and then remove them from play with Sea Stealth attack so that they can come back and stay on your field during Menace from the Deep end phase. These two monsters Menace from the Deep specifically chosen to synerize with this deck's strategy. Sea Stealth attack can turn them into protection effects for your face-up backrow by removing them till the end phase, and also turn them into monster removal by destroying any monster they attack before damage calculation. Use Hey, Trunade to clear your opponent's backrow of any set cards which could Menace from the Deep your attack. Isn't this Slamantha's Deck she posted on Youtube a month ago? Way to not give credit. Only had one Lancer but the deck's still a ton of fun. Set Activation confirmation to Toggle, and set it to ON at the end of your turn to be able to re-banish a monster and summon a turtle for extra wall. See all 5 comments. Wooster Reply. Staunch Defender is really handy. If you half shut Slim, you practically win, even against Toons. Alternatively you can use it to force your opponent to attack a turtle, and give yourself another opportunity to attack. Econ isn't super handy in this deck. Forgotten Temple more or less acts like a persistent Econ. If anything, Chaos Zone might be better. Why isn't econ handy? Turtle semi floats so you can do econ take play with it. Handy against opponents with BIG mons like red eyes etc. Also can be used for defensive play. Chaos zone seems too slow for this deck to be useful. Is slime not dead too often? Without supervise, its useless. I didn't find Econ too handy because most of the time it just sat in my back row. A lot of the utility of screwing with your opponent was covered by FTOD, but maybe I should reexamine it. Chaos Zone isn't as slow as you'd think. You get a banish in your turn and your opponent's turn, that's half a summon right there. Problem is that it's only worth it if you get it early, and only then. Arm Shield, Half Shut, and Supervise can all give it the turn it needs to summon. Not to mention if it gets resummoned by Supervise, it's ready to deal damage again next turn. And worse comes to worse, it can keep the turtle engine running. If anything, this deck needs a third half shut, but it's too expensive. Menace from the Deep feel like this deck has potential now, especially against relinquished but no one farms mako. It also seems very underpowered aganist harpies which is a problem. CreativiTimothy Reply. Yeah this deck is great against everything, esp clown deck, but HHG. Maybe run De-Spell or Twister. Needle Sunfish deserves a mention because when it is sent to the graveyard it can lower the attack of a monster by although it doesn't work very well with the other cards requiring normal monsters. Claire Reply. But then you couldn't use Common Charity with it, since it doesn't count as an Effect Monster in the hand. Everything in yugioh Menace from the Deep links is op but this takes the cake this Menace from the Deep is basically hit your opponents lifepoints directly and then banish it repeat till you win. Title: Menace from the Deep 13 Nov The Menace from the Deep are on duty on a derelict pier, which they have reached by boat but, thanks to Pike's clumsiness, the boat Menace from the Deep floated away, carrying their food. Hodges rows out to them in a children's boat to tell them to 'put that light out' and falls into the sea. Chocolate from a dispensing machine turns out to be a cardboard display but there is worse to come when a floating mine appears - though Hodges' bowling skills save the day when he blows it up. Written by don minifie This episode opens with two regular sailors Larry Menace from the Deep, Bill Treacher leaving their job of protecting Walmington-on-Sea pier from invasion. 's 's merry band of Home Guard volunteers will assume responsibility for one week until the regulars take over once more. There follows the usual collection of pitfalls and misunderstandings as Mainwaring tries to exert his authority over the platoon and ends up nearly falling into the water, forgets the food that the platoon have so carefully prepared for the night's vigil, and ARP Warden Hodges ends up drunkenly rampaging round the pier in his underwear. There is a possible danger to life and limb, with Corporal Jones discovering an unexploded landmine beneath the pier, but Hodges comes into his own with his cricketing ability to save the day Pertwee in real life was an accomplished bowler. Another Menace from the Deep of gentle comedy, punctuated by the underlying knowledge that the platoon could be in genuine danger if they stopped to think about it.
