The gap between recovered patients and active COVID-19 cases currently stands at 4,92,340. With this figure, the recovered cases are 1.9 times the active cases (5,28,242, all under medical supervision). 16 States/UTs are recording higher Recovery Rate than the national average rate. India has one of the lowest Case Fatality Rate (CFR) at 2.21% as compared to the Global average of 4%.

The meeting also saw participation of Secretaries/Additional Secretaries of line ministries. Interaction with Mr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Shipping and Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers CII organized a closed-door interaction with Mr Mansukh Mandaviya and other senior Ministry officials on 16 April 2020 to discuss key issues along with recommendations for the maritime sector to chart the way forward for the industry during lockdown 2.0. Over 50 CEOs from the public sector and private sector companies representing sectors such as Pharma, Manufacturing and Power participated. Meeting with Home Secretary and Secretary, DPIIT CII presented inputs from industry on the issues being faced post the exit from the lockdown. Key issues were actioned by MHA the same day. Latur Earthquake screamed on its front pages about the incident of the death of the union 4. Gujarat Genocide leader of the Regency Ceramics Factory at Yanam, in Puducherry, following a police lathi charge and about how the enraged workers had reduced the whole factory to ashes and killed the factory manager. Stories of such incidents keep appearing infrequently in the press. They are shown as isolated occurrences by rogue workers who go berserk. But are these to be seen as isolated incidents? Or are they connected by any exterior phenomena that occur around them? Can these incidents occur without any background of history? Is there a pattern to it? Can they be summarized under some general phenomena?
