View this email in your browser Well, what a strange few months it has been. At the Cabrach Trust, we have continued to work throughout lockdown with reduced sta=ng, placing two members of staff on Furlough. The staff are now coming back into the o=ce and we are restoring some form of normality. So much happens in such a short space of time but nature carries on. We missed our tenant farmer going through lambing, the trees turning from bare to full of leaves, and the Belds changing to lush pasture. During this time that we have been worked from home with the help of Zoom to keep us connected, working on various projects that we are excited to tell you about. - Woodland and Trails - One project we have been working on is to open up Inverharroch Farm in the Lower Cabrach by planting a woodland and constructing a pathway to create an All Ability trail. The trail will start at the Acorn Centre and follow the bank of the Charach River that meets the River Deveron. Perfect for a shorter family walk or to add on to one of the longer path networks in the area. We have submitted an application in partnership with the Cabrach Community Association to the Dorenell Windfarm Fund and have been working with The Woodland Trust to apply for Forestry Grant Scheme and MOREwoods funding. If we are successful we will be starting works in March 2021 (weather permitting!). More information on how you can get involved in volunteering opportunities will be coming soon. - Website - We have been working on our new website over the last few months and it’s almost ready to go live. We have made it user friendly with lots of information about the Trust, the community, updates and events information, and you will notice we also have an online shop! But dare we tell you what’s available in there….? - Charity Christmas Cards - Yes that’s right. Its never too early to get organised for Christmas is it? Our packs of Charity Christmas Cards contain 6 cards all with a different image. In purchasing the cards you are helping to support our charity’s work to regenerate the Cabrach as a thriving, sustainable community with its history, heritage & place in Scottish history & shared by all. The Christmas Cards will be available to buy through the website, our social media and local shops. Keep an eye out for when they go on sale! - Do You Have Memories of The Cabrach? - We are always interested in old photos and tales of days gone by in the Cabrach to help us with our ongoing research. If you would like to get in touch with our Heritage Manager. Contact Our Heritage Manager Stories Old and New Featuring The Cabrach Sunday 25th October - 2pm - 3pm Story Telling LIVE on Facebook Join us during the International Storytelling Festival for tales from the Cabrach featuring Blackwater and the Deveron. - EDF Ranger Path Network - The Dorenell Ranger Service have now finished updating the signage and waymarkers on four waymarked trails on the Cabrach and Glenfiddich Estate. These include 2 long distance routes through to Glenlivet and two shorter routes with a number of options to tie them together to create circular routes setting off from the Dorenell Visitor Centre or the trailheads at Bridgehaugh and Aldivalloch. - Dufftown Daffodil Planting - Dufftown and District Community Association & Dufftown in Bloom have been busy planting 1500 Daffodil bulbs with the help of community volunteers. The bulbs were donated by William Grant & Sons. The project, which has also helped raise funds for Marie Curie will see up to 40,000 bulbs planed in the coming months. https://www.facebook.com/DufftownCommunityAssociation/posts /1339296742944571 And Finally...
