Message from the Guest Editors

This Special Issue aims to present an up-to-date overview of environmental sustainability and diversity in human– nature interactions from a broad and interdisciplinary perspective by bringing together conceptual, epistemological, methodological, and mainly case-based studies or applied perspectives. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

1) Definition, characterization, or mapping of social– ecological systems, geosystems, or environmental management units. 2) Novel approaches to identify the main drivers of landscape change for environmental sustainability in landscape planning throughout history.

3) Innovative concepts, methods, or technologies to analyze and model land cover/land use change, human–nature interaction, or social–ecological system dynamics.

4) Disentangling concepts, synergies, and trade-offs between the concepts of social–ecological systems, geosystems, and environmental management units.

5) New technologies, methodologies, or tools to support land cover/land use decisions in sustainable landscape planning.

Diversity (ISSN 1424-2818) is a scholarly journal that covers all areas of diversity research. Our distinguished editorial board and refereeing process ensures the highest degree of scientific rigor for publishing. Original research articles and timely reviews are released online, with unlimited free access.

We invite papers and reviews on multidisciplinary topics of diversity that bridge organismic diversity (systematics, biodiversity, phylogeny, population genetics, and evolution) and molecular diversity (phytochemistry and biophysics).
