APPELLO AGLI AZZURRI: FATE UN GOL ANCHE PER I CANGURI, SMETTETE DI INDOSSARE SCARPE REALIZZATE CON LA LORO PELLE. “La LAV fa appello alla sensibilità di tutti gli Azzurri, probabilmente all’oscuro dell’orrore della caccia commerciale al canguro, e, in particolare, ad Alessandro Florenzi, Jorginho, Domenico Berardi, Lorenzo Insigne (unici giocatori della Nazionale che, dalle informazioni acquisite, sembrano indossare questa tipologia di scarpe) perché già da questa sera, e per tutte le prossime competizioni, indossino solo scarpe in materiale sintetico”, dichiara Simone Pavesi, Responsabile LAV Area Moda Animal Free. La campagna #SalvaCanguri, (https://www.lav.it/campagne/salvacanguri) lanciata dalla LAV in Italia ad ottobre 2019, è parte della campagna internazionale #KangaroosNotShoes, che coinvolge organizzazioni di tutto il mondo, unite per contrastare la mattanza dei canguri in Australia. In Italia abbiamo già ottenuto l’importante risultato di convincere DIADORA a interrompere le produzioni in pelle di canguro (usata per la principale linea di scarpe da calcio firmata da Roberto Baggio). Ed anche molte aziende del lusso, una volta comprese le criticità di questa filiera, hanno abbandonato questo materiale: Versace, Prada, Ferragamo (Gucci già dal 2017). Altre aziende del settore sportivo, principale utilizzatore di pelle di canguro, continuano invece a restare indifferenti alle atrocità commesse sulla pelle di canguri (e dei loro cuccioli), come l’italiana LOTTO ma anche Nike, adidas e Puma, che da sole producono il 97,2% delle scarpe indossate nella competizione UEFA EURO 2020. Eppure, le alternative esistono e sono preferite proprio dalla maggior parte dei calciatori professionisti, che calzano scarpe realizzate con materiali innovativi non di origine animale: la maggior parte degli Azzurri, infatti, preferiscono il sintetico alla vera pelle, ma 4 giocatori usano scarpe in canguro, e 4 in pelle bovina. La “caccia commerciale al canguro”, consentita e regolamentata dalle autorità australiane, è un vero e proprio massacro che ha causato la morte di oltre 45 milioni di canguri negli ultimi 20 anni. Una strage con un numero impressionante di vittime “collaterali”, cuccioli dipendenti dalle madri (deambulanti o ancora nel marsupio), animali adulti feriti, o fuggiti in preda al panico, tutti condannati ad una morte lenta e dolorosa. Le uccisioni avvengono di notte (essendo i canguri più attivi) a bordo di pick-up dove cacciatori, regolarmente autorizzati, sparano; inevitabile che i colpi dei fucili non vadano a bersaglio distruggendo, con un unico colpo, il cervello di questi animali (come previsto dal “Codice di Condotta”) e che invece, migliaia di animali ogni notte, subiscano gravi ferite e una orribile agonia. “La caccia ai canguri è una pratica insostenibile e violenta che già abbiamo denunciato nel nostro Rapporto “Complici”. La pelle di canguro non migliora le prestazioni in campo, per questo chiediamo agli Azzurri di segnare un gol anche per questi splendidi animali, affinché non ne vengano più uccisi per diventare scarpe da calcio: #SalvaCanguri #KangaroosNotShoes”!”, conclude Pavesi.
