The lion habitat has no obtrusive means of containment, i.e., no nets, no fences, no cages. This exhibit exposes the public to both the habitat and the interaction of species on the African plains. The design approach was to create naturalistic landforms that represent the animals’ habitats, while providing the necessary infrastructure to support their lifestyles and needs.
