Please check event pages in the guide and on the website for access information and session times. When booking your ticket please inform the operator of any access requirements. Every event page includes audio versions of the page information. Each event in the festival program contains detailed access information for that event in the booking guide and on the website. All 2019 festival tickets are sold through BASS. Various transaction fees apply depending on where and how you purchase your tickets. Detailed information on venue access is available at adelaidefestival.com.au Assistive Listening Assistive Listening Loops are available in the following venues: • Dunstan Playhouse • Festival Theatre • Space Theatre There are a limited number of hearing packs available. When booking tickets please notify ticketing staff that you will require assistive listening. Assistance Dogs Watering Station Watering stations for assistance dogs are available at Pioneer Women’s Memorial Garden and Elder Park. Please note Access tickets cannot be purchased online. 7 Auslan Interpreted Events What is Auslan Interpretation? During an Auslan interpreted performance, an interpreter stands in a clearly visible location to the audience, and interprets the spoken word and sound effects for Deaf patrons who require Auslan. An Audio Describer delivers a live commentary via a personal headset providing information on the visual elements of a performance as it unfolds. Please request headsets when booking to ensure availability. Headsets can be collected in foyers of each venue near box office – from one hour prior to show time. In conjunction with audio description, these shows also offer touch tours an hour prior to the start time. If you would like to participate in these, please let BASS staff know when booking your tickets. These tickets are available at the box office one hour before the show and are subject to availability. Eligible patrons can present a current healthcare card, pension card or full time student card to access a Pay What You Can ticket via donation of an amount chosen by the patron based on what they can afford. In 2019, Out Of Chaos…, Carmen, Grand Finale, Man With The Iron Neck and A Man of Good Hope will have Pay What You Can tickets available at a time and date to be confirmed on adelaidefestival.com.au from Friday 15 February 2019. Available resources include: • Large Text Guide, WW Audio Guide, list authors and books and their availability in alternative formats: please see adelaidefestival.com.au/access for further details and downloads. • Additionally, a Braille Adelaide Writers’ Week programs and a tactile map of the Writers’ Week site will be available at the information booth. You can request Auslan interpreting services at an Adelaide Writers’ Week event by downloading the Auslan Request Form which is now available on the website at adelaidefestival.com.au or by phoning 8216 4444.
