Youth Summer Camp Try-Outs at the Ukiah High Track set for Sunday Boys 14 to 17 years old, are invited to join the Devil Pups for their 2008 try-outs. Devil Pups, Incorporated is sponsoring its 2008 Youth Summer Camp, to be held at Camp Pendleton Marine Base. The dates of the youth camp will be from July 31 through Aug. 9. This program was first developed in 1954 and is a youth-cit- izenship development program where youth will learn leader- ship and team building skills. Attendees will meet with other youth from all over California and Nevada and learn how to live, work, and have fun with others, in a military setting. Try-outs for the Devil Pup Youth Summer Camp will be held on Saturday, April 26th at 10 a.m. at the Ukiah High School track area. Applicants must be healthy, non-delinquent boys ages 14 and 17 at the time they depart for the camp on July 30. The try-outs will consist of a competitive physical fitness test and an interview. At present they have a few openings for Lake and Mendocino youth. The candidates will be ranked in order of their fitness test scores and their age at time of departure. Once their openings are filled, other qualified candidates can be held on a waiting list. All costs of food, lodging, and travel are paid for by Devil Pups, Inc.
