The Broncs (4-1-2) scored their lone goal when freshman Hanna Spets recorded her first career goal at the 6:46 mark. The Broncs maintained their 1-0 lead until a furious four and a half minutes that saw the Rams (3-4-0) score three times, the latter of which came from Baylee Mitchell. Tiffany Ysassi scored the first goal of the flurry at 38:43 and assisted on the second goal at 39:43. Peyton Bucklew assisted on the first goal. Natalie Throneberry assisted on the third goal at 43:25. The Rams put together another multi-goal quick strike near the end of the match, as Chantal Kinsey scored on a penalty kick at 69:44 and then Throneberry found the back of the net 1:03 later on a feed from Chloe Fifer to complete the scoring. The Rams peppered freshman goalkeeper Aubrie Coley (2-1-2) with shots all night, as she was forced to make a career-high nine saves. The Broncs finished with seven shots on goal, but Kelsey Dombrowski (1-0-0) turned away six of them. The Rams outshot the Broncs 21-16 and had four corner kicks compared to one by the Broncs. 9/12/14 1 2 OT 2OT F Goals Assist(s) Time Shots Shots on Goal GK (Saves) Corner Kicks YC-RC UTPA 1 0 -- -- 1 Spets (1) 6:46 16 (.063) 7 (.438) Coley (9) 1 0-0 ACU 3 2 -- -- 5 Ysassi (1) Bucklew (1) 38:43 21 (.238) 14 (.667) Dombrowski (6) 4 2-0 Mitchell (3) Ysassi (1) 39:43 Mitchell (4) Throneberry (2) 43:25 Kinsey (1) 69:44 Throneberry (1) Fifer (2) 70:47 Previous Matches Still Undefeated! Broncs Win at Prairie View A&M Sept. 5, 2014 at Lady Panthers Field – Freshman Andreya Barrera scored two goals to help the University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women’s soccer team remain undefeated through the first six matches in program history with a 3-1 win against the Prairie View A&M Panthers. The Broncs (4-0-2) are just the third NCAA Division I women’s soccer team out of 22 in the history of Texas to be undefeated through their first six matches at the DI level, joining Baylor (5-0-1 in 1996) and Abilene Christian (5-0-1 in 2013). Barrera’s first goal tied the game on an assist from freshman Aimie Inthoulay at the 25:51 mark. Her second goal gave the Broncs a two-goal advantage on a shot from 20 yards out into the top of the net at the 62:32 mark. Freshman Jessica Suarez’s first-career goal turned out to be the game winner, as she scored on assist from freshman Zinnia Hannig at 39:18 to make it 2-1. Freshman goalkeeper Aubrie Coley (2-0-2) made five saves for the win. The lone Panthers (0-4-0) goal came at 14:36, when Celene Batrez took a header from Alicia Cooper and shot it in from 12 yards out. That marked the first time the Broncs had ever trailed in a game, a span that lasted 11:25. Both teams had 15 shots. The Broncs had eight shots on goal while the Panthers had six. 9/5/14 1 2 OT 2OT F Goals Assist(s) Time Shots Shots on Goal GK (Saves) Corner Kicks YC-RC UTPA 2 1 -- -- 3 Barrera (3) Inthoulay (3) 25:51 15 (.200) 8 (.533) Coley (5) 3 0-0 Suarez (1) Hannig (2) 39:18 Barrera (4) 62:32 PVAM 1 0 -- -- 1 Batrez (1) Cooper (1) 14:36 15 (.067) 6 (.400) Ledesma (2) 2 2-0 Garza (3) Broncs Play Texas A&M International to Scoreless Draw Sept. 2, 2014 at TAMIU Soccer Complex – The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs women’s soccer team played the Texas A&M International University Dustdevils to a 0-0 double overtime draw.
