Introductory guide for authors This guide is for early-career researchers who are beginning to write papers for publication. publishingsupport.iopscience.org publishingsupport.iopscience.org This guide is for early-career researchers who are beginning to write papers for publication. Academic publishing is rapidly changing, with new technologies and publication models giving authors much more choice over where and how to publish their work. Whether you are writing up the results of a PhD chapter or submitting your first paper, knowing how to prepare your work for publication is essential. This guide will provide an overview of academic publishing and advice on how to make the most of the process for sharing your research. For more information and to download a digital version of this guide go to publishingsupport.iopscience.org. c o n t e n t s Page Choosing where to submit your paper 4 Writing and formatting 6 Peer-review process 8 Revising and responding to referee reports 10 Acceptance and publication 12 Promoting your published work 13 Copyright and ethical integrity 14 Frequently asked questions 15 Publishing glossary 16 IOP publications 18 Introductory guide for authors 3 publishingsupport.iopscience.org Choosing where to submit your paper It can be tempting to begin writing a paper before giving much thought to where it might be published. However, choosing a journal to target before you begin to prepare your paper will enable you to tailor your writing to the journal’s audience and format your paper according to its specific guidelines, which you may find on the journal’s website. -

However, no bibliometric analyses on the importance of and interest that these individuals have in the football industry have been conducted. A total of 220 articles and reviews retrieved from Thomson Reuters Web of Science (Core Collection™) between 1997 and 2019 were analysed. These articles were published in 169 different journals by 609 authors from 340 different institutions in 46 countries. The following basic bibliometric analyses and co-occurrence networks were carried out: co-authorship and co-words. As a result, four clusters that summarise the following four different thematic areas were found: (1) football, entrepreneurship and social development, (2) football, innovation and management, (3) football, efficiency and new technology, and (4) football, injuries and innovation in rehabilitation. A thematic analysis of the four clusters found was carried out. Finally, practical implications and future lines of research were presented. -

Highlights of 2012
www.epljournal.org A Letters Journal expLoring the Frontiers oF physics Highlights A compilation of the best papers published within the last year EPL: Highlights How to submit your research to EPL We want to make it as simple as possible for you to submit your research to EPL. Our dedicated Authors’ Access channel at https://authors.epletters.net/ provides full guidelines on how to prepare a manuscript for submission to EPL. Here is a brief summary of our key recommendations. How to prepare a manuscript EPL publishes original, high-quality letters in all areas of physics. Your letter must contain sufficient argument and supporting information to satisfy other researchers in the field, and must also be of interest and relevance to wider sections of the physics community. You will need to give special care to the introduction and conclusions sections of the article to ensure that it is written in a style comprehensible to the general physics community. The maximum length for a manuscript is six printed journal pages (in A4 two-column format), including the title, the main text, formulae and figures, captions and tables. We encourage authors to submit multimedia attachments to enhance the online versions of published articles. They can add to the reader’s understanding and show results in attractive ways that go beyond what can be presented in the print version of the journal. Multimedia can be in the form of video clips and animations. The printed version of EPL remains the archival version, with multimedia items being supplements to enhance a reader’s understanding of the article. -

It is always good to present publication data with a goal to provide quantitative analysis some new knowledge about the universe or some phenomeno- of scientific process. Such an investigation belongs to the newly logical findings, but nowadays the researcher is facing more established field of scientometrics: a branch of the general science of science that covers all quantitative methods to analyze science mercantile questions such as: what is the practical impact, and research process. As a case study we consider download and how the new results can be implemented into the technology, citation statistics of the journal “Europhysics Letters” (EPL), etc. Therefore, numerous quantitative indicators and metrics as Europe’s flagship letters journal of broad interest to the related to science have become candidates for immediate physics community. While citations are usually considered as implementation in assessment procedures on different scales. -
