THURSDAY, 5 OCTOBER, 2017 Sent to Dubawi for her first mating, she produced this colt, who DUBAWI COLT A 2-MILLION was also the subject of interest from Roger Varian, David Redvers and Alastair Donald before MV Magnier made the successful bid of 2 TATTERSALLS TOPPER million gns. ASky Lantern was a brilliant racehorse; she was a very good 2- year-old, she won the Moyglare and she won the Guineas,@ said Magnier. AShe was very quick and he was a very good-looking Dubawi; he=s a nice horse, and Dubawi is a great sire.@ Magnier, who signed for the sale-topping Dubawi filly for 2.1 million gns here two years ago on behalf of Richard Henry, confirmed the colt is bound for Ballydoyle. When asked about Godolphin=s purchases of Coolmore-sired yearlings at recent sales, Magnier said, Ait=s not our policy to comment on other people=s business.@ Ed Sackville is the manager for the Keswick family of Rockcliffe Stud, which raced Sky Lantern and bred this colt, and he said, Awe are obviously delighted. We have a policy of selling the colts and keeping the fillies, and while we'd liked to have raced this horse ourselves, it is wonderful that he has sold so well. Sky Lot 222, the 2-million son of Dubawi/Sky Lantern | Tattersalls Lantern had a Dubawi colt this year and is in-foal to Frankel, so By Emma Berry and Kelsey Riley we've plenty to look forward to." Cont. p2 Newmarket, UK--Robust trade continued during the second session of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale on Wednesday, with big jumps recorded for both the average and median.

COMPILED SPECIFICALLY FOR Frankel (GB) STALLION AFFINITY REPORT A comprehensive stallion analysis with all active broodmare sires Copyright © 2020 The Jockey Club Information Systems, Inc. STALLION AFFINITY REPORT TrueNicks: An Explanation Nicks in History Compatibilities between stallions from one sire line with mares of another sire line has helped shape the breed since the Eclipse/Herod cross of the late 18th century. These successful crosses, called nicks, have impacted Thoroughbred development through such examples as Hermit/Stockwell, Lexington/Glencoe, Bend Or/Macaroni, and Phalaris/Chaucer. In the modern era, the prolific Mr. Prospector/Northern Dancer cross has produced outstanding racehorses and sires such as Kingmambo, Distorted Humor, and Elusive Quality. Fast-Forward to the 21st Century Computer databases have made it possible to measure and rate nicks, giving rise to a commercial market for such statistics. The first nick ratings offered to the public, though popular, were compromised by incomplete data and yielded results based on hypothetical rather than actual opportunity. This statistical gap was the impetus behind the development of TrueNicks. A Statistically Valid Approach Unlike other ratings that are calculated based on hypothetical opportunity within a limited group of horses, TrueNicks references the international database of The Jockey Club—the world’s most complete record of Thoroughbreds and their performance—to produce a sophisticated rating based on all starters and stakes winners on a given cross. The Statistics The TrueNicks rating is derived from two statistical elements: the Sire Improvement Index (SII) and the Broodmare Sire Improvement Index (BSII). Each figure compares the percentage of progeny stakes winners to starters.
