IN MEMORY of Walter Luft’

Walter Luft, a member of our club for over thirty years, passed away at the age of 92. Walter was a dedicated member of the club and helped to keep the German language alive by teaching it at weekly classes to club members not versed in the language. It can be said that Walter was a strict grammarian who labored to endow his students with the same love he had for the German language and culture. Walter also participated in other club activities serving as a security operative during the annual Oktoberfests.

We will miss him.

ANZEIGER OKTOBERFEST 2020

Our annual Oktoberfest has been postponed this year as concerns about the spread of coronavirus continues and in accordance with large gathering directives from Governor DeSantis. In these uncertain times, the health and safety of our members and community weigh heavily in all decisions made and we are hopeful to safely bring this event back in the first quar- ter of next year.

Please stay tuned for further announcements as we hope for conditions to improve.

Beautification BEAUTIFICATION meets every Wednesday from After a short lockdown we are working again. Some of the beautification 8:00 am –1:00pm team still stay at home due to the uncertainty with the virus but the health Unless otherwise of everybody is main priority. Hopefully the situation will soon change. noted. Due to the warm and wet weather the grass is growing and has to be mowed and the weeds are sprouting. But we have a good team taking care of that. The electricians are working hard and installing new power lines and switch- es and outlets in the outdoor kitchens. The chicken and the sausage kitchen are tiled and grouted and, by the way, look great, and when they are painted all the sinks and ovens will be installed again. The health department will have no reason to complain anymore. The next step will be replacing the ceiling in the pancake kitchen. Thank you all for your good work for our club and stay safe and healthy.
