Vatterott College Opens New Education Center Near Worlds of Fun Campus relocates to a more visible location in the Hunt Midwest Commerce Center KANSAS CITY, Mo – December 12, 2012 – Hunt Midwest Real Estate Development, Inc. has completed a new Vatterott career education center at 4131 N Corrington Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The new $7.8 million facility sits on a 6.9-acre tract with I-435 highway visibility in the Hunt Midwest Commerce Center, which is located just west of I-435 at NE Parvin Road. The 65,218 square foot facility is modeled after Vatterott’s new design prototype. Classroom and administrative space account for 43,700 square feet and 21,518 square feet is devoted to vocational training in a conditioned warehouse. The campus also features a six-bay automotive and diesel shop as well as expanded parking for 230 vehicles. Hunt Midwest handled build-to-suit construction, which began last March. Vatterott offers instruction in automotive, diesel, welding, wind energy, computer sciences, and electrical heating/ ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) as well as dental, medical, retail and business management programs. The new education center replaces the current Vatterott location at the northwest corner of the Interstate 70/Blue Ridge Cutoff, just across from the Truman Sports Complex. Classes began in mid-November. “We are pleased to welcome Vatterott to the Hunt Midwest Commerce Center,” said Ora Reynolds, president of Hunt Midwest Real Estate Development.” A truck-friendly infrastructure and a number of big truck dealers nearby – including Midway Ford, Westfall GMC Truck/Freightliner and Diamond International – are a great complement to Vatterott’s course offerings in welding and automotive technology.” Hunt Midwest Commerce Center is a 140-acre commercial center located in a 2,500-acre master-planned development adjacent to Hunt Midwest SubTropolis, the world’s largest underground business complex. Nearly 70,000 vehicles traveling on I-435 pass by the location daily.
