QB Pete Thomas Saturday on the Rams’ single-season completions list surpassed No. 6 Matt Newton (211 in 2000), No. 5 Newton (213 in 1999), No. 4 Billy Farris (233 in 2008) and No. 3Justin Holland (235 in 2005). Thomas enters the finale with 237, tied with No. 2 Scooter Molan- der (237 in 1987) and figures to finish second on the all-time list, behind record-holder Terry Nugent (275 in 1983). QB Pete Thomas, the nation’s only true freshman to start each of his team’s games at QB, is on pace to finish his as the most accurate sin- gle-season passer in CSU’s history. Thomas, who has connected on 66.2 percent of his passes (237-for-358), ranked 20th in the country in that category entering last weekend. However, of the 19 players ahead of him, only Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weeden (229-for-341, .672) and Okla- 8 homa’s Landry Jones (263-for-397, .663) had thrown as many passes. Thomas also led all freshmen (true and redshirt) in completion percent- age entering Week 11. Only Georgia’s Aaron Murray (2,307) had thrown for more yards than Thomas (2,273). QB Pete Thomas on the Mountain West’s single-season freshman pass- ing list eclipsed No. 2 Andy Dalton (2,459 yards, TCU, 2007). With 2,565 yards entering the season finale, he needs just 89 to surpass league record-holder Ryan Lindley 2,653, SDSU, 2008). WR Tyson Liggett, who had 11 catches for 156 yards and a TD in 2009, finished his career with 16 catches for 218 yards against BYU. LB Ricky Brewer, who now has 101 tackles this season with 13 against the Cougars, became the first CSU player since Eric Pauly (2002-03) with multiple 100-tackle seasons. Since three players reached 100 in 2003, only Brewer (103 in 2008, 101 in 2010) and Mychal Sisson (105 in ‘08) have reached the landmark in a season. K Ben DeLine with his 16th field goal this year tied No. 4 Jason Smith (16 in 2007) and Jon Poole (16 in 1980) on CSU’s single-season list. He now needs three to match his dad, No. 3 Steve DeLine (19 in 1986). DeLine is the second-most accurate kicker in CSU annals (32-for-42, .762), trailing predecessor Jason Smith (45-for-58, .776; 2005-08). Derek Franz (.757), Jeff Babcock (.750) and his dad, Steve (.724), round out the top five. NT Guy Miller has played in every game of his college career, 48 includ- ing the BYU game. The BYU game also marked his 23rd consecutive start. FB Zac Pauga has played in every game of his college career, 48 includ- ing the BYU game.
