However, please feel free to tell your own story about the benefits of DEACS to you and your organization and community. Emphasize economic benefits, cost savings, and business and job creation as a theme. • DEACS is a non-regulatory Division in NC DEQ offering no-cost assistance to industry, businesses, local governments, and individual citizens on a wide range of environmental concerns. • DEACS should not be eliminated but actually expanded to increase its positive impacts on North Carolina’s economy and environment. • Through its programs and services, DEACS helps create jobs and expand North Carolina’s economy. • DEACS programs and services have saved money for thousands of local governments, manufacturers, small businesses, non-profits, and state agencies. • NC DEACS also helps businesses and citizens understand complex regulations and helps them avoid costs of non- compliance. .
