It's hard to believe it's been six years since we got Waka Flocka Flame's last solo studio album Triple F Life: Fans, Friends & Family . In that time, much has happened in the rapper's life and career. After pump-faking the project a few times over the past few years, it looks like we will finally get the Flockaveli 2 album toward the end of the year. On Sunday (April 22), the Bricksquad Monopoly boy posted the cover art for the album on Instagram. This is at least the third version of the cover art we've seen already. This one shows a profile view of the rapper with a bandana on his face in front of a black-and-white backdrop. There are a handful of what look to be crows or ravens flying away from the title of the project. Waka simply captioned the cover: "October 5." We've heard it all before, but this time we hope we actually get the LP. XXL spoke with Waka in February, where he gave some details on the upcoming release. It sounds like he will be returning with a vengeance. "I’m coming to fuckin' put my foot down," he said. "When Flockaveli 2 come out, muthafuckas gon be like, 'Nah, that’s the Godfather.' Literally. That’s literally what people gon say. Flockaveli 2 is just attitude, man." Waka is fresh off dropping his Brick House Boyz joint project with and Big Bank Black. Waka Flocka Flame Names “Flockaveli 2” Objective. Although Waka Flocka Flame’s Flockaveli 2 album won’t be released until later this year, the Southern wordsmith recently spoke with XXL magazine to give the inside scoop on some of the tracks featured on his upcoming album. While speaking on his Flockaveli 2 record “John Gotti,” Waka revealed that fans can expect to hear “street shit” and “rowdy music” on his project. He added that he also wants “to put the fun back in” Hip Hop. “Street shit. Straight up, no singles [on the album], straight just street shit. That’s all I love; I love the streets,” Waka Flocka Flame said while breaking down his “John Gotti” record. “I don’t know how to flex, I didn’t grow up ballin’ or wearing Jordans, so all I know is rowdy music. [With this] I just want to bring the rowdy shit back. Hip-hop ain’t fun; I want to put the fun back in it. It’s not bouncy no more. Hip-hop is very arrogant today.” Another record the Atlanta, rapper spoke on was the Tae E-produced “Spend On Her.” He says the song came about after he made several strip club visits, and it was requested that he make music for the strip clubs again. “Every time I go to the strip club, they always be like, ‘Make something that we can dance to,’” he said. “They be hitting me in my DM on Instagram. They always tell me to make some strip club shit because I always did and I stopped making it for them. Tae E produced it, a young boy. I’m bringing all new producers to this. And why would [I pay] 100 bands, 50 bands for a beat? When you making the same beat that this young nigga is making on the internet? If they make a quality beat, they can get some quality money.” Waka Flocka Flame’s feature with XXL is included in the publication’s Spring 2015 issue. Waka Flocka Flame’s ‘Flockaveli 2’ Has a New Release Date. After more pump fakes than a rec-league basketball game, it finally looks like Waka Flocka Flame's long-awaited album, Flockaveli 2 will be dropping later this year. Waka recently revealed the news to fans on Spapchat, posting a distorted image of his face, along with the caption: "F2 10/5/17." Hopefully this date holds true, which hasn't been the case in the past. Waka first announced the project would drop back in October 2013, following the release of his 2012 sophomore album, Triple F Life: Fans, Friends & Family . But the date came and went without the album dropping. Another year passed before he debuted what was then the artwork for the LP and a tracklist. But again, nothing materialized. In February 2015, he claimed the album would drop in June of that year, and said the project would feature the likes of Jay Z, Kanye West, , and 50 Cent. But by April of that year, he was publicly beefing with his record label, Atlantic, claiming they were the blame for the hold up. "Sad that my label holding #Flockaveli2 BACK. LET ME BUYOUT MY CONTRACT ASAP," he tweeted. Last year, he claimed it would be dropping in the winter. You can clearly see a pattern here. In the meantime, Waka has been dropping mixtapes and collecting reality show checks. But now, it appears that he has finally been given the green light. The first Flockaveli LP was a game changer. Production wise, it served as the nationwide introduction to the sound, curated by and Southside. Waka Flocka Flame "Flockaveli 2" Release Date, Cover Art & Tracklisting. Waka Flocka Flame has had a busy 2012. The Atlanta, Georgia-based rapper had a public falling out with Brick Squad 1017 and album collaborator . Still retaining his Brick Squad Monopoly imprint, Flocka has been working on the follow-up to his 2010 solo debut, Flockaveli . Today on , Waka announced that Flockaveli 2 will release exactly two years to the day from his Top 10 debut. The Brick Squad Monopoly/Warner Bros./Atlantic Records artist will keep the October 5 tradition alive. Guests, production and confirmation of a label have yet to be released—though in January, the rapper called the album, “Flockaveli Part 2,” and stated that and were involved in the recording. Last year, Waka released Triple F: Friends, Fans & Family . Another Top 10 appearance, the LP featured Nicki Minaj, and Drake, among many others. UPDATE: In an interview late last month with Toronto, Ontario’s DJ Dames Nellas, Waka Flocka Flame announced the push-back of his Flockaveli sequel. “I was gonna drop Flockaveli 2 in October, but I said, ‘You know something? I wasn’t giving all my people—the fans my all,” Flocka said on Flow 93.5 FM. “So I wanna really go in. I wanna give a real hard album. So I’ma aim for like first quarter [2014]—January.” Claiming “I’m done, really,” on the album’s recording, Flocka confirmed that he will largely reprise the production cast of Lex Luger and Southside from the 2010 debut. Additionally, Waka will work with Rico Love and B.o.B.’s mentor, Jim Jonsin on this album. UPDATE #2: In a new interview with 16 Bars TV, Waka Flocka Flame also confirmed a Busta Rhymes appearance on Flockaveli 2. “I got nice features,” boasted Waka. “I’ll just expose it: I got Busta Rhymes.” The pair worked together on DJ Khaled’s “ Remix” and N.O.R.E.’s “Lehhhgo.” He elaborated on his overall vision for the album. “ Flockaveli 2 is basically like a big ol’ mosh-pit, a Hip Hop mosh-pit.” (July 24, 2013) UPDATE #3: Waka Flocka Flame has revealed the cover art for Flockaveli 2.
