This work is the result of his extensive study about Kerala’s Muslims by educationist, historian and activist the late Prof. K.M. Bahauddin. The book travels back to six eventful centuries in the history of Kerala Muslims.

The book has many issues in its focus; the historical background of Malabar before the advent of Islam, the origin and evolution of Islam in Malabar from 700 AD to 1500 AD, the legend Cheraman Perumal and finally Vasco Da Gama’s arrival on the Malabar Coast and its consequences in various quarters. The sec- ond part of the book contains a short, edited reproduction of the account on the Muslims Keralam by Mahomed Kasim Feristha of the Bijapur Sultanate in his Gulshan-i-Ibrahimi.
