Finding a way to shorten the stay

When you are in hospital, it’s important for us to ensure you receive the best possible care, in the best possible time. This also means making sure you only stay with us for the time you need to, giving you valuable recovery time in your own environment. Timely discharge allows the Hospital to have beds available for new patients, making sure there is no wait for treatment and health and wellbeing is not at risk. This summer, the Trust has launched its ‘Every Hour Counts’ promotional campaign, to raise awareness of length of stay and ensure a safe and appropriately timed discharge for patients in hospital. By working together, sharing knowledge and supporting each other, we can improve the quality of care and your experience as a patient, by making sure you get the right bed, at the right time.
