  • 09 Enotes#16, May 19
Written by Dave Lancer, Director Information E NOTES FROM THE PGA TOUR PGA TOUR • For the next two weeks, Rich Beem will be donating $100 for each birdie he makes to help aid Rich Behm, the Dallas Cowboy scout who was injured in the collapse of the Cowboys practice facility. Fans can also make donations according to the number of birdies made by Beem, or anyone else. In addition, Beem will have everyone autograph his golf bag which will then be put up for silent auction. BirdiesForeBehm was announced today in Dallas at the HP Byron Nelson Championship and at the Cowboys practice facility. • Zach Johnson has regained the lead in the FedExCup points race thanks to his victory last week at the Valero Texas Open. Geoff Ogilvy had held the lead over the past 11 weeks. • More on Zach: Since the start of the 2007 season, only Tiger Woods (12 wins) and Phil Mickelson (7) have more victories than Zach’s five. Vijay Singh also has five other that time span. • One more on Zach: He’s not just the only player to shoot 60 twice on the PGA TOUR, he’s shot the last two 60s on TOUR. • It will look like a convention of former U.S. Amateur champs this week at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. No less than 10 former winners of that event are participating in the tournament—Scott Verplank, Billy Mayfair, Phil Mickelson, Justin Leonard, Matt Kuchar, Jeff Quinney, Ricky Barnes, Ryan Moore, Colt Knost and Danny Lee. • Over the past 15 years, winners of the HP Byron Nelson Championship have hailed from seven different countries—the U.S., South Africa, Sweden, Japan, Fiji, Spain and Australia.
