SportsNet’s coverage of the seeding games tips-off on July 30 when the Lakers face the Clippers at 6:00 p.m. at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.     2020 Adult Social Recreation Registration What is The Arc Adult Social Recreation Program? We are a membership program in which a group of post-high school adults with intellectual and related developmental disabilities participates in various activities. The program is sponsored and supported by The Arc of Fort Bend County and the Fort Bend County CDBG program and members must reside in Fort Bend County. Each person’s provider is responsible for the members’ transportation and supervision. If you do not have a provider, a family member may attend with you. What kind of events and activities does the Social Recreation program offer? Each month activities are planned for members. Some of these are: 1. Dances 2. Sporting events such as the Houston Rockets, Astros, SaberCats, Harlem Globetrotters, Monster Trucks, Supercross and Sugar Land Skeeters, etc. 3. STRUCTURE & FUNDING The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is a 501(c)6 nonprofit corporation. The GHCVB is a marketing and service organization with a budget presently comprised of certain reserved funds and private funds raised through a variety of sources including investments in events, membership dues, advertising and in-kind contributions. At the beginning of 2014, the GHCVB’s primary source of funding was from a contract with the City of Houston which was assigned to the Houston First Corporation, or HFC, in 2011 and expired June 30, 2014. This contract funded approximately 92% of the GHCVB’s budget from a tax on hotel/ motel occupancy within the incorporated boundaries of Houston, Texas. Upon expiration of the contract on June 30, 2014, the GHCVB and HFC boards approved a strategic realignment between the two organizations to create a more efficient approach to marketing and selling Houston to tourists and conventions.

Power Finds New York Red Bulls, Chicago Fire, Anaheim Ducks, Houston Rockets Rank Highest in Respective Markets NEW YORK: 16 Aug. 2016 — Major League Soccer teams rank no lower than second in each of America’s four largest markets included in the inaugural J.D. Power 2016 Fan Experience Study,SM released today. The New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire rank highest in their respective markets while the Los Angeles Galaxy and Houston Dynamo rank second in theirs. The Fan Experience Study measures customer satisfaction of major pro sports teams in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston across seven factors. They are (in order of importance): seating area and game experience; security and ushers; leaving the game; arriving at the game; food and beverage; ticket purchase; and souvenirs and merchandise. Satisfaction is measured on a 1,000-point scale. Additional factors that were measured—but not included in the official ranking—were loyalty and future intentions; team performance (on-field); and team image. The Red Bulls score highest among New York teams for security and ushers (835); seating area and game experience (833); ticket purchase (819); food and beverage (795); and leaving the game (791). The Chicago Fire score highest among Chicago teams for souvenirs and merchandise (875); security and ushers (838); ticket purchase (795); food and beverage (783); and leaving the game (758). In the Los Angeles region, it is a National Hockey League team that ranks highest: the Anaheim Ducks.

The Partnership works to make Houston greater by promoting economic development, foreign trade and investment, and by advocating for efficient and effective government that supports, rather than impedes, business growth. The Partnership also convenes key stakeholders to solve the region’s most pressing issues. The Partnership was formed in 1989 in a merger of the Greater Houston Chamber of Commerce, the Houston Economic Development Council and the Houston World Trade Association. Today, the Partnership serves the 11-county greater Houston region and represents a member roster of more than 1,000 businesses and institutions. Members of the Partnership account for one-fifth of all jobs in Houston. They engage in various initiatives, committees and task forces to work toward our goal of making Houston greater.
