09:00 Meeting with State Politicians to discuss local initiatives on securing sustainable development in the forests. Participants: President of the Assembly Mr. Mr. Domingos Chuvenil and Mr. Airton Faleiro as well as members of the committee of environment.

11:00 Transfer to Palacio do Governo

12:00 Working Lunch hosted by the Governor of the State of Para, Mrs. Ana Julia Careta.

In continuation of the lunch there will be presentations by - Ideflor – State government organ concerned with sustainable development incl forest concessions, Executive Director Ms. Raimunda Monteiro, and - SEMA – State government organ concerned with the approval of sustainable forest projects, Vice minister Marcelo, Bastos Fracozo

The Minister leaves the Committee to return to Copenhagen

Depending on the interests of the Committee, theres is opportunity for a bus-tour outside Belém along a road, which was opened 6 years ago. Along the road it will be possible to see areas that have been deforested because the road has given access to areas which were not previously accessible.
